Absolute bums. Wtf kind of pathetic goal is that? Just go live on the fucking street, very "liveable" in western Europe. If your goal isn't literal millions then you are going to be broke and useless in a decade and that's just YOU. Never mind that you have no prospect if providing for a family or loved ones. Get a job, work hard for a few years and invest all of it so that you can get millions and have a family.

500k. I work in financial planning for a living and sell hedge products during downturns when my own money takes a dump. I live extremely cheaply right now with no debt so I've got a good 10 years of growth without touching that $. Only concern would be emergency medical bills.

I make 200k+/yr, ofc waging sucks but I'm set to make at least $2m this year in crypto bc I was able to shovel so much into crypto in the bear market. I also have a family and want to provide a good life for them when I stop waging. to answer OP, I think $4m is my stopping point, but still never selling

Yeah biggest cost is housing, although even with a paid off house, insurance and property tax will set you back quite a bit. Then there's cost of transportation on top, even just public transit would be another $80/month.
I think I could do it on 500k if I moved in with a few roommates.

how much do you think people make? let's say you put 20K$ aside each year, with 5% yield, after 10 years you would barely have 300K$, after 20 years of "hard work" you might have a million.

I'm 46 and I just quit with about $300k in the bank.
Gonna sell my house on 5 acres this spring, hopefully get $350-400k for it) and buy a cheap little place for somewhere for $150k or so.
Gonna get a new truck and small travel trail and just go on 2 week road trips all over the West to go hiking and biking.
Right now I'm just waiting for the weather to clear and I'm gonna go over to eastern Washington state for 5 days to do some hiking and ride my electric mountain bike.
If I run out of money I have no problem going to back to work and sitting on my ass at a desk in my 60s. That's when I'll need shit like health insurance anyway.
