I design clothes and I'm struggling to come up with a brand name.
Tried to use my own name but a menswear company with that name already exists. Moved on to cool sounding fake names, and they literally all exist. Anything from Chad Diamond to Michael Million is a pre existing name of several people.

So is this an issue? If I name my company Chad Blade Clothing, for example, am I gonna get sued by everyone who goes by that name or has an Instagram account by that nickname?

Are you implying that if it hasn't been copyrighted or trademarked I can just steal it?

Also, don't forget to make the clothes really expensive. Rich arabs and asians will buy them for that reason alone.

Shirts: $800+
Sweaters: $3000+
Jackets: $6000+

I have this cool brand name for all clothing, keep it locked.
I though always have ideas how I should start making those good quality clothes in china and charge 7x in west markets, but problem I always face in my mind, I don't have enough funds to go "boom look at my brand" before it gets copied and manufactured in places where I forgot to register the name. I always have this dilemma, should I just go small and later sell brand if enough interest come my way? I always overthink stuff.

If something is good it will get copied, but because it's good, your fans will want the real deal.

It'a too much for me to type out, but look into copyrights vs branding vs trademarking. Branding is an interesting thing because you don't need a license that says it belongs to you like a business name, it's based on the history of your product and the branding, whether it be a graphic or a name. I think if someone has the IG account "@Chad_Blade" and you have the company "Chad Blade Apparel LLC", you're fine because they have nothing to do with eachother. If @Chad_Blade's profile is based around clothing though, he might be able to get a lawyer to hassle you over looking for a settlement.

YOUR FANS HAHAHAH, NOW LISTEN HERE YOU SHITS WHO DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT BEING EATEN ALIVE IN ANY KIND OF MARKET

those fuckin chinks from the factory you will order ANYTHING , will copy it first and it will be on aliexpress before it's even delivered to you

there's no fuckin white man to white man deal there, chinks (and chicks) aren't loyal you fuckin idiots.

only way to START a brand, is to build it up locally, especially when it comes to clothing or something with pioneer idea that chinks will just fuckin steal and earn hundreds of thousands USD before even thinking about shipping your order.

if you guys want to make it in clothing, find local sewing ladies, pay them money, and put those ladies on the contract with real lawyer.

then build a fuckin brand, then talk about deals with chinks or whatever 3rd world workforce you want.

but talking from perspective, it's like starting a rock band.

you hear about 1 bon jovi, but there milion kids trying to make it.

and that's starting a brand/business is , you can always try small business and have a higher chance of success, less investment etc.

but to build a brand, is a combination of luck, experience, knowing people from that industry etc etc.

it's a meme that everybody can start shit.

There aren't companies here that do all over printing on hoodies though.
It's extremely expensive.

dude everyone from that chink who you send email too, to his grandmother, friends, family will know about it. there are literally departments of those chinks working 24/7 locked in cages to sort through emails/projects/existing brands/trends focused on stealing things before they even hit the tape at the factory.

you are in EU or USA ?

they are you dummy, but you have to go and make a deal. get real good cotton or materials, good prints, and label this as a premium product. not some chink fuckin "wannabe" cotton that will look like a cloth from sink after 1 visit in washing machine

I live in Scandinavia, EU. I don't know of any printing companies in my country. There are a few but all they can do is print a logo on the front, just what everyone is doing. I want to decide everything, including the graphics on the inside of the pockets.

>> No.17582146

>>17582051
then go and take your dream serious and work for it kid
>find material suppliers
>find sewing ladies
>find print place

do the project, let lady sew one fuckin hoodie, all have to be perfect, there will be corrections for sure.

local sewing shops have material in most cases, im from EU too. they are crafty so they will give you tips, choose material with you etc.

then print shit on it if you want.

register company, register trademark in eu.

invest into small batch not more than 50-100 of it ONE FUCKIN BEST PROJECT THAT YOU BELIEVE IN

do fuckin all sizes, most % in target group and genre , if this is a rap clothes, people will not buy S or M, do L and XL

now promote this shit locally or on EU ebay, locally would be better for streetwear or some other target group you have in mind, they will test it etc

setup websites

do things and research instead of sitting on your ass and thinking some chink will make a good hoodie for you

>> No.17582292

>>17582051
if you register trademark in EU with logo etc, it can be done later ofc because this is additional investment at the start, dunno wtf you have in mind, you can then look for lower cost workforce while keeping high quality

i'm from Poland so i bet my ass that it will cost at least 50% less to make your clothes here compared to Scandinavia, with actual quality and you will be protected by EU law for all fishy things, like chinks stealing your shit.

but there's other countries, its just a matter of research.

i was thinking about my designs too, but there's a lot of shit to do with it, and you have to be 100% sure that you want to put that work in.

it's not a matter of getting project in photoshop with dimensions and lettting people print/make it. you have to get to know materials, manufacture process, sewing , printing all that shit makes a difference.

i watched one brand from Poland who started locally, local sewing, high quality from start, good designs, make a bank in first year. but they planned that shit from a needle to the package to the client.

now they have multiple shops across the country, and i remember drinking beer with my friend and talking about it that it's a guaranteed hit, because it's top notch from the start.

but that takes dedication and work.

and that's all i have to say from my part, too busy atm to dedicate my life to design clothes, and maybe too young to start a business like that. if there's no expanding plan , and you just want to "print hoodies" , don't invest shit into it
