how the FUCK can a NY'er buy anything that isn't on coinbase?

tried exodus, can't make any exchanges... using a VPN might work, but there's a ridiculous $40+ fee for any transaction.

tried bittrex, and they emailed me saying NY'ers cannot use their services.
