>>17517891
>i understand larpers but this is beyond retarded
what's beyond retarded is that anyone thinks BTC is valuable to begin with
all it does it destroy resources

>> No.17517975

>>17517937
BTC doesn't destroy resources per se, if you're referring to electricity consumption; proof of work is the essential component of blockchain technology, and is what provides Nakamoto consensus through Byzantine fault tolerance via the economic mechanism of the cost of producing partially inverted hashes
but you're right that BTC itself is totally worthless, a dysfunctional shitcoin
only Bitcoin is valuable

>> No.17518095

>>17517937
You know, all it does is make me richer, over and over and over again. Fuck resources.

>> No.17518115

>>17517975
bitcoin is the value destruction theory of value:
value must first be destroyed in order to be created
aka fucking insanely stupid

>> No.17518124

>>17518115
again, if you're referring to proof of work, you are gravely mistaken
the economic cost associated with producing partially inverted hashes is precisely the mechanism which gives it Byzantine fault tolerance, and thus yields Nakamoto consensus

repeating the same meme a second time will definitely make it true
BTC is fundamentally broken, right now 2 or 3 chinese miners could secretly mine a longer chain and double spend attack against every major exchange, or they could just do regular mining and exclude (censor) transactions they don't like, only building upon other blocks that also exclude transactions they don't like
that's not fault tolerant it's you tolerating faults

>> No.17518205

>>17518198
everyone in china is dead

>> No.17518218

>>17518198
it's not a meme, it's literally how Byzantine fault tolerance is achieved with Bitcoin
I have to repeat it when it doesn't enter your thick skull the first time
also, what you're describing is called "selfish mining", and it was proven years ago that it's not even remotely profitable from a game-theoretic point of view
but again you are correct that BTC is fundamentally broken, it's a total shitcoin, just not for the reasons you mention

>> No.17518260

>>17518218
BTC isn't really BFT. You tolerate faults when they happen. Miners can mine empty blocks or blocks filled with gibberish and there is no finality. If a longer chain is found you switch to it. That's a fault you tolerate.

Something like the Ripple Consensus Protocol is actually BFT. ~20% of nodes involved in creating a block can be Byzantine without disrupting or corrupting the correct production of a new block.

But you know don't let me, an actual blockchain programmer, tell you how to think and feel about boomercoin

>> No.17518294

>>17518260
it is most definitely BFT
again, what you're describing is not a problem at all, as the mechanism which makes it BFT is economic in nature, and this is what quickly weeds out miners attempting to subvert the network
also, I've got a master's degree in computer engineering specializing in data science, have been in Bitcoin since 2012, and am actively using the real Bitcoin blockchain (BSV) to store and retrieve data every day
also, imagine thinking that Ripple is BFT, I feel sorry for you

>> No.17518317

>>17518294
>also, imagine thinking that Ripple is BFT, I feel sorry for you
Imagine thinking you're well educated and you haven't read the Ripple consensus protocol paper

We painted a massive bull pennant over the last 3 years which just so happens to converge at the halving. Bobos may be right short term but why risk it? Within the next two months we break out to the upside towards $80k

>> No.17518555

>>17518404
imagine actually believing this after witnessing the network implode, the mempool get totally congested, and fees exploding just as it reached $20k
BTC will never go above $10k ever again, it's the end of the road for that shitcoin
