Hi, I've never traded coin but have saved a decent amount of money with my trade job and was thinking of trying it out. Is it a bad idea?

How much time money are you willing to commit?

If you aren't willing to commit more than an hour a day to research/trading only do blue chips like ETH/BTC/LINK.

If you are gonna put in a lot of money and spend all your time monitoring/reading about coins then maybe get some low cap alts. You gotta follow those closely though.

you'll need to put in the time to learn technical analysis and go through its learning curve. start with an inconsequential amount of money until you've got the hang of it.
with that being said, most people in this board are just holding link indefinitely and never ever ever EVER selling it, so you might consider doing that too. no guarantees on that but if it fails we'll all fail together

I'm willing to give 4 hours a day to it. Is that modest?

That's more than enough for swing trading once you actually know what you're doing. Most of the time spent is just having some tabs open and looking every now and then though so it's difficult to quantify the time it really takes. If you want to go through with this, watch the tutorials on Cryptocred's Youtube channel. Try to use level-headed analysts when learning TA - you must actively seek this since constant positive bull hype reinforcement gets far more engagement on social media. If in doubt look if they've posted (accurate) bearish predictions in the past.

4 hours is decent... Now how are you going to give those 4 hours though? I personally am not sure how much time I spend. I play a lot of games on my computer so I often check news during downtime/queues in those games.

I try to buy things that I believe have good long term outlook, when they moon like crazy I sell some of my stack and then will slowly buy back as it drops.
