I'm a video maker and photographer. I need to increase my cashflow coming in. I specialize in bands and live music acts. But I can do anything and everything video related...
What do you geniuses think I my strategy should be for getting more clients!?

Have you tried advertising at all? Flyers, business cards, Facebook ads, Craigslist, anything? How satisfied are your clients after you give them your work? If they're satisfied, nudge them to spread the about you. Maybe your work is fine but your customer service skills are lacking a little. Best thing though is definitely flyers, put them up at your college if you go and if not near bars where bands play live or something. Think of better areas.

Nope, all my work thus far has been work of mouth
>How satisfied are your clients after you give them your work?
I'd say pretty fucking satisfied. "Gobsmacked" might describe at least two clients reactions.
> Maybe your work is fine but your customer service skills are lacking a little.
Probably
> Best thing though is definitely flyers, put them up at your college if you go and if not near bars where bands play live or something. Think of better areas.
What's the best thing to point out, obviously having a link or QR code to a showreel should be on there. But like, what should be my value proposition or whatever the fuck you call it. Sure I make videos, but how do I make myself like... distinguished?

Weddings, film events for companies. Create different websites for each theme to make it seem like you specialise only on it and then advertise.

but its so fucking boring, like working in a factory, after filming 3 weddings i never wanted to see any more weddings again

How do I go about getting clients who are planning weddings?

Where do I advertise? What are, for example, corporate events looking for in a videographer?
Is this something I can do some research on LinkedIn for.
Really I want to stick with bands or maybe live entertainment events, simply because I have the portfolio at the moment that shows I can do those well.

That's maybe a long-term option. I'd rather find clients that don't require doing freebies for a totally new showreel.
>>17484113
haha! Nice hustle, but I can't afford that (and I can do all the graphic elements myself and have experiance with wordpress).
I need cashflow in the next few months, and that's before I can even begin to consider hiring a PA.

You can get pretty decent ones on freelancer websites from india and shit for cheap. Just make sure they she (yes pick a woman) knows english really well.

Sure man, I've designed sites for a lot of pretty big names, especially in the movie industry and diamond industry.

Good luck!

Have you done the cold calling team thing yourself?
Good point about how it has to be a woman, people are far more likely to give the time of day to a female voice.

Yeah, make sure it's obviously a legit group.

What I did was I would get some indian to get me an excel sheet of hundreds of numbers and emails of potential clients.

Then I would hire a cold calling team to call all those numbers. It would cost me maybe 300 bucks for it all and I would earn 10x that much.

If you're looking locally, I highly suggest writing physical letters. Huge ROI.

>What's the best thing to point out?
Since you specialize in band videos, mention how a properly edited video can help build a following. Ask yourself what do small local bands want, and how can you make your video editing skills give it to them. They want to be famous right? Since you've done work for other bands before, try and find your videos on their YouTube or social media and see how many views they got. If a band has a good sound, image and online presence, it's only a matter of time till they get a following theyre happy with.
>Sure I make videos, but how do I make myself like... distinguished?
You're the band video guy. Not just the video guy. Besides most bands who see your flyer aren't gonna say >hmm this faggot isn't distinguished enough let's choose someone else.
They're gonna hire you if they like your price or like you work. You said your work speaks for itself so compile and show them your best work, show them how your videos have specifically helped bands work towards what they want, and how you can do the same for any band.
>Flyers
When making these flyers, try and find a good balance between saying you edit band videos and saying you can edit any video. Make different versions for different areas. Obviously bars where live music play get the ones tailored to them. Etc. If money is tight design the ad to fit half a page so if you need to print in bulk at office Depot you get 2 ads per 1 page. Good luck
