I honestly can't tell if he is a brainlet on the subject, or if he is just trying to FUD crypto while he is accumulating somehow? (Does he even know about Proof of Work??)

Let's assume that he is not accumulating for the sake of this post; When you hear Warren Buffet talk about cryptocurrencies, he sounds like someone who is so dug into his trench, that he can't really come out of it now. Listen to the man speak. The whole *idea* of Bitcoin is ridiculous to him.. "It doesen't produce anything". I wonder if anyone ever asked him, whether or not he thinks that gold has any value?

This is the same concept. Bitcoin, however, will probably prove to be more valuable than gold in the long run, since gold, per definition, is not deflationary. This might take a generation to be obvious truth - but it will be truth, none the less.

I mean, for christ sake, if you ever feel that Warren Buffet might be right about any of this, just remember that the man completely missed Google AND Amazon..

Boomers hate crypto, mostly because they don't get it, partly because they don't like how it's undermining their legacy markets.

Give the man a break, he's had a good run. Better than you'll ever have.

I think.. No, I HOPE that you are trolling.

Gold can technically be synthesized. We could also eventually go to other planets, find vast amounts of it, and mine it. Because of this, it has potential to become less valuable. In fact, gold is only valuable, because a critical amount on value holders agreed that it was in the first place.

Bitcoin is the same. You just can't create (or find) more of it. Here's your (You).

No matter how far away this is, it's still beyond the point. Bitcoin, unless somehow restricted, will be a more valuable asset than gold.

When though matters. Holding a bag for 20 years doesn't make any sense when you can use that money more intelligently in the meantime.

Gold isn’t really used for anything outside of jewelry. The idea that gold is backed by something is a boomer meme.

If you believe that currencies will eventually become digital, and continue along the trend of libra, logically you should be bullish on bitcoin. Why hold derivatives of fiat that ultimately gain no value when you could just as easily hold appreciating digital assets. I understand what you are saying.

In my opinion, it is a short-sighted way to approach value accumulation. You cannot time market sentiment. Statistically you will make bad decisions. Take your chances if you will, but I'd rather live a life unweighted by the stress of trading.

In my opinion, the only thing that matters, is that you continue to accumulate and accumulate. You can't time market sentiment.

I will see gains beyond traditional markets in my time (I already have), and my grand-children will thank me.

That's why I have crypto and also tangible assets. The only thing that's dumb to hoard is fiat money.
