Plebs thinking a vaccine is a magic wand you can simply pull out of your arse. Coronaviridae would require a vaccine which can trigger very efficient mucosal immune response ... and that is hard to achieve. It did not work properly for SARS or MERS, I doubt they'll find an efficient one for the recent Coronaviridae strain ... either protection does not last long enough to maintain herd immunity or it will only have a rather low chance of protecting the patient from infection.

Nucleotide analog prodrug. It mimics a nucleotide, a building block of the virus' genome ... virus infects cell, makes copies of its genome and mistakes the drug (or rather, its metabolized active form) for a genuine nucleotide and incorporates it into the copies of its genetic code, making them non-viable. Problem is that Coronavirus produces its own replication machinery (which is supposed to take the faulty drug nucleotide for a real one) when infecting cells and it has been shown with other viruses that these have a tendency to mutate and become immune to the drug. The virus simply adapts.

The voter turnout for presidential elections is generally about 50%, a little higher lately. Basically the “average American” votes about half the time. The average voter generally has higher wealth and education then the average American.

Also boomers were 35% of votes cast in the presidential election. Having trouble posting this table:

In the end they just have to be efficient enough to infer a herd immunity threshold ... not even factoring in that it might simply mutate away.

>>17427661

You mean the resistance mutation? Was shown in a murine CoV, was also shown it negatively impacts replication rate but the virus will easily take that tradeoff if put under evolutionary pressure. Nucleotide analogs might be useful in an ER setting but they won't prevent a theoretical pandemic and might quickly "lose their edge" if we're unlucky.

What we are looking for model wise

It seems that we have a 4-5 week lag on cluster outbreak to detection in most countries excluding Singapore/Hong Kong who are very aggressive.

This means an outbreak is spotted when people start dying or ICUs fill up unexpectedly. This is far along in a cluster and means thousands of cases potentially. The R0 that entire 4 weeks or so was very high because people did not take precautions.

This is shown: Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran

If another country is a week or two weeks behind those we will see something similar. All the sudden the doubling of cases hits some deaths and a hospital is facing 5-6 dying patients and more in serious.

we will not see a ramp up: 1->2->3->5 like in Singapore with excellent prep

USA has done 400 tests, has faulty tests, and a huge problem with testing in general. The planned "wide net" testing never even begun and most hospitals do not have tests.

California, Nebraska and Illinois are the only U.S. states that can currently test for coronavirus, the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) told Reuters on Friday.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week said some of the testing kits sent to U.S. states and at least 30 countries produced “inconclusive” results due to a flawed component.

In other WORDS

USA is facing a
>5 weeks into transmission we get a death and then we uncover a 2000 person cluster

how is ecommerce going to make sales if 90% of inventory comes from china where factories arent running and cities are under military lockdown?

those amazon iphones arent being made right now, once current inventory sells there wont be any sales until the chinese sweatshops start up again. and they cant start up until the chinese slave miners start up. and they cant start up until the chinese state agriculture starts up.

how are the phones going to be built if the factories are closed? or the factories for the raw materials? or the bakeries who make the noodles for the workers at the factories? you havent spent much time on twitter have you. im not saying its the next bubonic plague but this shit is definitely going to affect the economy for months as it ramps up. containment failed already. we have thousands of people in the US right now who traveled from china since early february and are possible carriers

so Yes

In ideal world cases grow smoothly-ish and tracking case numbers should tell you something

in real world it's messy. A cluster will be uncovered after 3-4 weeks and reveal a large outbreak (Italy, Japan, Korea, Iran)

It's not going to be this shit where you look at a graph of cases leveling out and buy. It's going to be very very tough to predict this, both positively or negatively.

Those saying the market is behaving boomer tier or w/ double digit IQs probably see it appearing to follow the MSM.

Respect TA. The Walk is not so random.
Respect Fundamentals. Speculators ultimately do not sell products or distribute services.
Respect Current Events. You can't change those.

None of these considerations can assist a trader alone.

Very sensible play.

I decided in early 2020 to really Play this game. I was passive all 2019, but kept up with market closely.

This year though it just dawned on me to really play and go with what ideas I came up with. No fear play it.

I've not done completely yolo plays though. I want to see if I can beat the market consistently as it would be a nice check on some things I hypothesize.

It's pretty interesting in the fact I have basically not read a book. Don't know how to read finances.

For instance I am 60%+ portfolio (calls and stock) in GILD but I moved into that position without knowing: PE, it had a dividend, or any other typical thing.

It's quite interesting how it's all working out so far this year. Of course: This time frame is too small to judge consistency and meaningless.

The vice-minister added that Chinese authorities have been in touch with Gilead. “If the drug works well, putting the interest of the people as the priority, we will work with Gilead to find an appropriate way to supply the medicine,” he said.

this whole event made me realize i need to properly start preparing for future events like this. im going to really start looking into getting a cottage somewhere out of a city centre and then work on it to create a perfect get-away that i can go to for a few months in cases like this. because i can see this kind of shit happening more frequently with some countries developing viruses to kill off certain people by targeting specific genomes.
