The only way I can think of that would make your website popular is to choose a narrow but popular niche (amateurs is too generic), and make it the whole theme of the website, so that people who want that specific niche have a reason to go to your specific website.

You'll make something like $1 for each 1000 visitors. Ads are not worth it unless you pull in huge numbers.

It's not really passive if you're spending time and money trying to generate enough traffic to barely see a return on your investment.

I don't want to be negative but I honestly don't think simply running ads is going to generate any significant amount of cash. It might pay for the hosting but that's about it.

Hosting is as cheap as 15$ a year. Domains are about the same or less with coupons.

How could I make money with my tech skills then (coding and networking)?

I already work as an admin. But. I want a side job that will run itself.
