I am pretty high IQ and quick in all cognitive areas yet everything in our modern world feels incredibly complicated. I feel burnt out. Things feel too hard. If I feel like this, how do brainlets even cope? How do they even survive??

Ignorance is bliss for most people. Work 9-5 Monday to Friday in a static role, watch TV during the evenings, enjoy weekends with friends and family, look forward to summer holidays and Christmas, and don't think about much else. Rinse and repeat until dead.

In some ways it's an envious position to be in. There are probably many people out there who feel happier staying in their routine with a simple life compared to people who push and deal with those ups and downs along the way.

I’ve also wondered about this. I think it is a bunch of things, but can be understood philosophically that as the conditions and forces that act to create a “good life” grow more complex through technology and improvement of systems, we must work harder to come to understand and interact with the world. To be able to competently navigate this society, it helps to understand the mechanisms that help us reach our goals (such as funding retirement, physical fitness/ health, on the proper method for rearing children, etc.) and we have better access to information than we ever have in human history. Additionally, some of the fundamental viewpoints / personal philosophies that give a person an edge in accomplishing their goals conflict with our own, leading to change in how we interact with the world. Composing our world view has become more difficult as we are provided a great deal more information than ever before.

Another thing to consider is the barrier to entry and the increase in competition and the globalization that influences trends in human behavior. The internet is a marvelous thing, basically the modern Library of Alexandria. Now even the lowest common denominator of society has access to the information and strategies that allow for conventional success.

I really don't think that's a bad way to live, as long as you are happy. The people that settle in a position where they are miserable are the real problem. My dad could not afford to have kids. Instead of running out on us, he worked 60 hours a week at a crappy job until he died. I could never do that. I will not subject myself to a miserable life if I have a choice in the matter.

Another thing to consider is how the internet has raised the bar of success. Scroll through instagram for even a short while and you may notice the obscenely wealth, lavish lifestyles, the trappings of wealth and success. Humans seem to worship other humans that have managed to attain things that are rare or otherwise valuable. We compare ourselves to them, when the case would have been very different 60 years ago. The elite and wealthy have likely not really changed their way of living over the years, the premise remains the same. But for the common man, their eyes have been opened to what can be attained. This realization of potential leads to hyper competitiveness to attain these things, which ultimately rewards only a few. Not everyone can be a surgeon or politician. There have to be people that work unglamorous jobs for 40+ years, it’s just that now these people have a front row seat to view the upper class lifestyle they are missing out on. As a result, new generations resolve themselves to be a part of what they view as valuable. Also feminism pushing women into the job market essentially doubles competition.

There are absolutely "us and them" levels unfortunately.

You have incredibly intelligent people in this world who create amazing things and think very deeply about society, economics, humanity and the universe. On the other hand there are loads of people (I've met many of them) who barely ever scratch the surface of anything and are hugely ignorant about the world around them.

The problematic part is pretending these different levels don't exist just to avoid offending the majority.

Mindsets differ hugely as well. A lot of successful people will put themselves in positions where they fail over and over again before they get where they are. Meanwhile the majority of people on earth, when you really think about it, rarely experience failures unless they get sacked or divorced.

>they dont think very deeply about society, economics, humanity and the universe.

So they just have it difficult with some higher concepts, sure. but does that even matter to the general human experience?

All our lives are, for the most part, self made struggles. which form they take can be different , but its really the same game (although i admit some failures most never experience)

I didn't say they're like animals. Someone else said that.

Anyway, I have no issue with people and how they wish to live their lives. As I said, it can sometimes be an envious position to be happy without thinking too deeply or striving too far, as the world can typically be more painful for people who do strive and therefore tend to find the world a more difficult place.

Of course broader humanity faces many similar struggles around core concepts like love, death and mental health. But someone like Elon Musk, for example, clearly operates on a far higher level in many ways than a middle-aged blue collar worker who watches Fox News and has never traveled outside of his own state. What standard deviation? It's not a meaningful number if this is unknown. Also, at what age was this? That's also a major factor, because if you were tested as a child then you were being compared to other children. All IQ is, is a way of expressing your relative performance to other test takers; it may as well be expressed as a percentile.

It's hard for people who deviate from the norm because they have to expend a huge amount of energy to copy normie behavior and to fit in.
For normal people this is almost effortless as this is similar to breathing and they never had to learn it.
That's just the way they are.

It's really interesting how much the body language tells about a person.
What drains me the most is being forced to be passive in useless meetings and be around people talking with no purpose.

Yeah, all of this is very relatable. Also one thing which basically made me want to stop interacting with almost anyone is that people think I am talking out of my ass on every subject. They feel inferior around me and then they project it on me and think that I am trying to one up them. This was just my suspicion at first based on their tonality change. Then one of them complained to me that I "try to be better than them all the time". In reality I am just sharing my knowledge on the topic at hand. But their superficiality just can't understand that some people really do read about all sorts of complicated topics. Thus maintaining a conversation is impossible with most people.

People fear what they can't control or understand.
The reason they feel inferior is because they undoubtedly are and when interacting with you this truth hurts them.
The usual reaction to this is either to try to ignore you or to destroy your reputation and make your life harder as a form of vengeance.
You can maintain a conversation with most people but you have to stay at their small talk level and don't talk about anything complex as This requires a lot of their energy just to understand and follow a topic.
The reason why people like small talk is because this requires less energy on their part and they can at most only focus for 15/30 minutes on a complex topic before being tired and losing their focus.

But yes it usually makes no sense to spend more effort than the minimum to keep a relationship with these people..
Being too intelligent is a curse, as you can only relate to people who are at least gifted with a 15 IQ difference from your IQ.

Seriously fuck politics, the people that worry about that shit can't change it anyway, which is why most are fucking depressed. Read Epictetus, lift and meditate.

ok, listen here kid. Let's pick two genius IQ level humans, both also have very good memory. A zoomer and a boomer. A high IQ zoomer saw less patterns in his life time than a high IQ boomer. See where it goes? Yes, boomers are stupid in general since they didn't have internet in their childhood, that is true. But high IQ boomers are something else, they are transcendent beings. And high IQ boomers know the answer to your question
>how do people survive
Because of social interaction. They ask for help if they need it. You can try it too if something gets out of hand. You can be an absolute brainlet and be successful if you value social interaction.

You're probably stressing over things that don't matter.
Also, if you consider yourself intelligent, it's important that you find and interact with people that are smarter you: this can give you a sense of perspective, and some of them will be a warning of what happens if you rely too much on your own intelligence.

When I find people that are more intelligent than me they often end up being mentally unstable and maladjusted to society. Most of the time they are down right autistic. For this reason I mostly hang with normies or more recently, I find myself becoming more reclusive and alone to my studies. I enjoy socializing and social interaction and I may even be quite extroverted at times but regular normie conversation seems fruitless and boring to me, I can’t take mindlessness. I also find my jokes go over people’s heads and that normies straight up don’t understand me at times. They like me though for whatever reason and I make friends very fast to the point where I cut people off and ignore them because they don’t stimulate me and have nothing to offer me intellectually. It would be one thing if I could actually carry conversations with normies because I believe you can learn something from even the most retarded person but nowadays another problem is normies can’t even socialize properly themselves, they are glued to their phones, obssesed with social media and don’t even realize how rude and retarded it is when you are hanging out with someone and yet you cannot even take your focus of your digital pacifier screen for a full minute. So I almost feel like I’m a real playable character in a world full of NPC’s and I feel that this is the reason that normies are attracted to me because I have more life force/mojo/conciousness than them and they want it. I also solve problems very easily and imorove people’s lives greatly just by being their friends but never seem to receive much in return. It’s a weird predicament, maybe some of you will resonate with this. Thanks for reading my blog post.

Underrated

The burnout. This is incredibly common. It’s the struggle of the modern man and there’s actually some philosophy on this. I encourage you to listen to Naval Ravikant on Joe Rogan.

The modern struggle is having all of your wildest desires easily accessible. You want delicious food? No problem. You want to cum to attractive women? Internet porn is free. You want to be entertained for hours on end with tv/video games? Fine.

The issue is with everything so accessible, there is no struggle. We don’t have to hunt for our food. We don’t have to be rich/attractive to jerk off to internet porn. We are all sucking down sins like addicts with an unlimited supply of heroin. And you ask why you aren’t happy? You must train self control.

Im frugal, single, always saving and investing. yet Im not rich, far from it. I wonder how can the average wagefag even cope? how can they afford cars, houses, multiple vacations? Im doing well but I still feel poor and owning real estate is a pipe dream at these prices. no idea how average joes even survive when prices for all neccessities are exploding these days.

> My IQ has been helpful in observing social situations very quickly and analytically. Things like body language, little movements, small cues which help me understand how the person actually feels in a given situation.

Dude...that is not something IQ does, if you try to actively "understand body language with IQ" then you are an autist... normal people pick up on body language cues subconsciously, they don't have to actively think about it like some turbonerds "oh wow, his eye corners are tense and lips pointing downward, he must be sad"

> Also my capacity for visualization is quite high. I am really good with manipulating complex mental images in my mind.

So where is your art, engineering creations or software / games? Oh you didn't create those? Oh you are "smart but lazy", guess what, that is impossible, because truly smart person will know how to reprogram their brains via neuroplasticity to not be lazy and not feel "drained".

>> No.17413162

> Yeah, all of this is very relatable. Also one thing which basically made me want to stop interacting with almost anyone is that people think I am talking out of my ass on every subject. They feel inferior around me and then they project it on me and think that I am trying to one up them. This was just my suspicion at first based on their tonality change. Then one of them complained to me that I "try to be better than them all the time". In reality I am just sharing my knowledge on the topic at hand. But their superficiality just can't understand that some people really do read about all sorts of complicated topics. Thus maintaining a conversation is impossible with most people.

If you were truly intelligent you wouldn't to have this issue and wouldn't need to humblebrag, since you would easily at each interaction determine what amount of information disclosure is necessary for a nice interaction and pleasant impression. You haven't even learned to listen more than you speak, haven't learned to ask questions. DESU it sounds you are more ignorant than "intelligent".

> I have a lot of entry level knowledge on a wide range of topics and that makes it easy for me to engage in conversation with all sorts of people and maintain it. Perhaps your problem is over sharing and coming off as lecturing. Mostly normies just want to share what they know about their favourite topic without some hyper autist saying "well aktshually...". Just my experience.

Every procrastinator wanker has this "wide variety of basic knowledge" from watching countless youtube documentaries instead of going out socialising

It is not a good trait. In anything it jus reflects how much time you wasted. You didn't stick to one subject and master it or advance it because you were too lazy and dumb and lacked discipline to get deeper than basics. Instead you just skimmed the "easy basics" of a large variety of subjects giving you a false sense of belief of being a "well read educated person". It is useless knowledge. Unless you are expert in field or creating something all of that only reflects how much time you wasted reading wikipedia or youtube. And if you lecture people on it you come across as socially clueless. Should have read books on communication instead.
