I browsed /b/ in my young 20s during its peak in 2009 and eventually stopped browsing 4chan and then returned in 2017 to /biz/ because I had heard about bitcoin originally in /b/ all those years ago when it was $1 and I heard a coworker mention it was $4k so a switch flipped in me and I became obsessed with making it from that day forward.
