Two Iranians have died in hospital after testing positive for the new coronavirus in the holy Shi'ite city of Qom, the head of the city's University of Medical Sciences told Mehr news agency on Wednesday.

"Two Iranians, who tested positive earlier today for new coronavirus, died of respiratory illness," the official told Mehr.

Iran's health ministry spokesman Kianush Jahanpur confirmed their death on Twitter.

Iran confirmed earlier on Wednesday its first two cases of the virus, government spokesman Ali Rabiei said, shortly after reports that preliminary tests on the two had come back positive.

The health ministry said earlier that the patients had been put in isolation.

Rabiei did not give the nationality of the two people infected, but some reports suggested that they were Iranian nationals.

Beating the market consistently over a long time period is very rare. That's why he said that. Even hedge funds with fuck tons of smart people will fail at it.

Hence most rational people would just do an index fund type of strategy instead of trying to stock pick. If you play vs the market it means you think you have an edge or you just like to gamble.

Even risk vs reward you can lever up on index funds to increase risk so that isn't a good enough reason.

>gotcha, so [options are] more or less as risky as leverage trading.
Not exactly. If you have an edge then options will amplify that. The major differences between options and margin when directionally trading is options have no concept of a margin call no matter how high your implied leverage is. You can buy a call with an implied leverage of 100x and the underlying can go directly to 1 cent without anything happening to your position other than it dropping. If an hour before expiration the underlying goes to the moon you cash out your huge gains. With margin you would have had your position liquidated long ago if the underlying dumped that hard. The downside to options is the time limit and theta (it loses value as time goes on). Calculating implied leverage on an option is easy, just multiply the underlying price by the delta and divide that by the option's price. Options closer to expiration will tend to have higher leverage and options with a strike price that is "out of the money" will tend to have higher leverage. Read up on the basics of how the numbers and greeks work then come to your own conclusion. Googling for a strategy is mostly useless since you will find 150 opinions for every 100 blog posts.

no problem maybe we can help each other out im just getting into crypto myself. only have some fake holdings on robinhood but would like to actually own real crypto soon as i can figure out a wallet situation

heres the other secret about markets: news. keep an eye on news and you can enter early enough to beat most other people. follow your instinct. if news breaks figure out how it might relate to the business, or perception of the business. markets are just as much psychological as they are factual. if people sense greatness or failure they buy and sell accordingly, regardless of what the books say. get in the habit of reading news all the time and try to think to yourself "how would this story affect company x,y, or z"

I appreciate it, still reading thru replies, but keep your crypto off robinhood. you can't withdraw it there, it's like buying a contract for bitcoin at a price and selling the contract. you don't actually own it. as far as a crypto on-ramp goes it's kinda bottom tier, especially if you want to trade altcoins (which I advise against with anything more than 5-10%, based on risk management)

LINK is an erc-20 token, erc-20 tokens are on the Ethereum network. You can store any erc-20 tokens on an Ethereum wallet, so chainlink doesn't have it's own wallet, you use Ethereum's. For different blockchains, you'll use different wallets.

For $500 I'd recommend just keeping it in metamask. It's a browser plug-in wallet and easy to learn, so you literally just keep your money up by your taskbar and can check it whenever. Make sure to save your seed code and make backups of that shit in case your PC accidentally fries. And use linux or if you have windows god forbid, don't get a virus. Absolutely assuming it is rebalanced regularly. SSO is the go-to 2x S&P for burgers and if none of the 3x stuff existed I'd be shilling it. I talk SOXL up so much cuz of the semiconductor angle. I believe in the next couple of decades there is no stopping the "smartening" of the world with this stuff. The implied belief underlying that is the strength and continued growth of the US economy relative to the rest of the world. I don't see that plateuing anytime soon. Naturally there will be recessions here and there but we'll all share that so it isn't specific to the United States. The upshot is if you have a similar outlook and don't feel like you have any preternatural ability to pick individual stocks then DBPG is a solid pick. Even if you are a good trader, I'd put some fraction of your stack into it

So Bitcoin is just Bitcoin. You have offshoots like Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV that forked down the line (in an attempt to change/improve upon the original Bitcoin, which is controversial of whether they are succeeding or are actually needed at all; you'll find both arguments). Ethereum is like a Bitcoin, but it's basically a computer. Many nodes can hook up to the Ethereum network. You can make games on it, or gamble on it with apps (dAPPs but that's for another time). You can also create coins on it, and you can code in astoundingly complex algorithms, which can be how the coin functions, how many of the coin there are in existence, etc. Some new coins like Fantom are trying to basically do what Ethereum is doing, but most "ETH killers" are only still a concept, and by buying those coins, you're getting it'll be successful in the future, or that partnerships, news, hitting development deadlines etc will pump it. A LOT of coins/tokens are on the Ethereum network though. Most people don't actually use the coins' technology. Like, most people never use an Ethereum app, ever. Using the tech isn't even important most of the time, as long as you know the steps to take to buy a coin, where to buy it, how wallets work, etc. Independent research definitely helps. Knowing what your coin kinda does, what the market cap is, etc all play decisions into how you invest. Safest moves by far are just BTC and ETH, and maybe an alt like LINK or a microcap coin if it's promising (but NOT a significant amount of money in the latter case)

exactly. sorry just realized i overlooked this post. you wouldnt want to gamble your big pile of savings on a single stock, or even a single sector of industry, the same way you crypto guys dont go all in on the latest new coin.

ETFs are called exchange traded funds, because they are like a mutual fund. they overlook and manage a number of investments. traditional mutual funds usually have management fees, membership fees, or meet minimum investment qualifications (lots of mutual funds might require a $20,000 minimum for instance). ETFs are traded on the stock market, and dont require you to join the bank running the fund or paying those fees and having those requirements. so they are an attractive way for laypeople to invest

ETFs and indexes are basically a sampling of a lot of different companies. they allow you to invest based on broad categories which makes them a lot less risky. you can buy a gold mining ETF, for example, and it will have holdings in maybe like 800 gold mining companies. so instead of putting all your investment into 1 company, that might fail because of bad leadership, bad money management, civil war that leads to bandits stealing the mine, maybe an earthquake happens and swallows up their excavators, etc etc, basically you have 800 companies. so you can invest in the idea of gold mining, instead of the specific company, which will have more risks. there are a lot of different ETFs

you are a crypto dude, so you might have interest in a crypto ETF. its like robinhood though, so you wont actually own the crypto. you would own shares of the ETF, whcih might be invested in everything from mining farm companies in china to physical BTC holdings. ETFs are a good way of investing for people who are familiar with certain sectors. you know how the markets and technology works, so you might have an idea if it will go up or down vs someone like me who doesnt know shit about crypto

No, they make the only FDA approved heart perfusion machine. It costs a quarter mill a pop and the disposable, single use circuits cost about 30k. They are selling a lot of machines and equipment, that's all I'm gonna say to keep my shilling to a minimum.

If you care to buy in, search warosu for TMDX. Keep in mind that there are no options, it won't 2x overnight, but it will continue to increase in value. Their IPO was only in the middle of last year so you would be buying in relatively early.

Last time I've heard from WSB, it was about the retard who used the infinite money cheat on RH to lose tens of thousands of dollar he didn't have.

Interestingly enough, I've read a theory today that all the latest meme pumps like TSLA and SPCE are at least partially caused by WSB to a varying degree - they hype up a meme stock, people buy tons of calls to the point where the bots trigger and shit goes up, making it a self-fulfilling prophecy. And the next target for their pump might be AMD.

So assuming everything goes according to plan I'll start my new job in April. They still have to go through the whole interview process which happens in mid March. I mean god forbid anything illegal happens right... But for once the deck will be stacked in my favor. 15% pay bump (10% + 5% after 6 months). Be a $4,042.93 jump a year. Course about half will be sucked off the top for tax/deductions but my pension will get a big boost and I'll clear $100 or slightly more each check.

No, we like the way all of those index and the returns they give compared to the broad market. SPLV barely returns, we would rather hold EMB then it to be honest.

Just recently decided to go heavy on commodities. We are using GCC so we don't have a large oil exposure, mainly because the FED seems gearing to push huge amounts of inflation into the market.
