And PM's are way safer than stocks. I'm not saying you can't make money from stocks, but the risk/reward is getting much worse with every day. I may jump in once Trump offers that fancy tax break for stock buyers to get some free money, but I'll be bailing out quick once I see some gains. This whole thing screams of worldwide pump and dump. I look at metals like a real savings account that pays with interest. I'm buying some mining stocks too. But any money you get from stocks after you sell needs to be protected with PM's or land, there is no other place to put it.

How is it possible?
Still lots of pajeet demand.
Silverware, jewellery and investment demand from india is close to 200 million ounces per year.
Almost 1/4 of total production.
They wont buy when silver makes a run for 20 bucks.
Alexco is waiting for +20 bucks to start production of 3,5 million ounce mines.
Hochschild is waiting for 20+silver to restart the Arcata mine. (6 mil oz)
San Cristobal (20 mil oz) might restart production.
There's at least one other that I forgot.

There's so much production that can come online at 20 dollar silver and there's so much demand that might go away at high silver prices...

I think we're going down first, fellow silverbugs.

Silver is literally the only precious metal right now that hasn't had significant price action in the last 60 days. It's because it's not profitable enough to mine it and we've stacked up so much of it. There are silver mines in Africa that have rich vein but are not being worked, they're waiting for the price to spike.

Well we're here in 2020 and most mines are churning happily along.
I think that because silver is very often a byproduct from a base metal mine, it just doesnt get searched after very much and not very well mapped either. I wouldnt give it too much thought. Everything is supposedly finite but name me one thing that we used to mine, that ran out and we dont mine anymore?
What are the odds that the first thing to run out will be silver?
It will never run out.
It might become uneconomical to mine it, at which point price will rise to make it economical again but i dont think we are there yet.

>Trump

I have to say that something tells me PMs might run up to the election, especially if Bernie gets the nod and the polls run ultra tight like they always seem to right up until the big day. If Bernie actually wins I would have to think PMs would absolutely skyrocket with suddenly so much monetization in play. On the other hand, if Trump wins then maybe it dips? Then again, heavily one-sided trades often turn out to surprise and so anything could happen. My amateur prediction is 70% chance of Trump victory depending on what the Dems try to pull between now and then.

>There is more above ground gold than silver, hence silver is actually more scarce than gold

Is there?
With gold they assume its all still there, all the gold that was ever mined. Or at least 95% of it. Which makes it about 6 billion ounces.

With silver they mine 850 million ounces every year. The 2019 world silver survey accounted for 2,5 billion ounces of in institutional stockpiles (government, ETPs, custodian vaults)

Then you have us little stackers with our bullion coins, which saw an explosion from around 40 million oz minted per year around 2005 to about 100 million oz every year since 2010. So thats another billion in the last decade.

That doesnt include silver bars, jewelerry, silverware, silver coins from back when governments used it for official coinage, or bullion prior to 2010.

I think at the very least its getting close and that line of more gold than silver was probably true ten years ago but alot has changed since.

Stacking wasnt popular 15 years ago. Now there is alot of silver amassed at homes of silver stackers.

I bet this thread alone holds over 100k ounces of silver.

The dollar is worthless. It's a global generation debt based fiat ponzi scheme.

JFK isnt a traitor, sure he was an agent at one point but he went rogue with EO 11110, if enacted, it would have killed the federal reserve, and this the control arm of the top

the issuance of Executive Order 11110 was an effort by Kennedy to transfer power from the Federal Reserve to the United States Department of the Treasury by replacing Federal Reserve Notes with silver certificates.

They killed him for it and they even killed his son too because he knew too much
JFK was the last president who wasn’t in the tops pocket

I feel like the boomers are gonna jump ship from the stock market and their pensions once things get too rocky to protect their wealth from whatever bullshit plan the gov goes through with. This may happen very soon, and probably has a 100% chance of happening sometime during or more likely after Trump's second term. They won't jump into real estate because there's gonna be over 21+ million houses for sale in the coming decade and millenials probably won't even be buying them. They also won't go into treasuries because they're not even going to trust the government at this point. They won't go into cash because there will probably be restrictions on it by then. They won't go to bitcoin because they are technologically retarded. They won't go into silver because they are going to be old and weak and won't even be able to carry it. This pretty much leaves them with one option, gold. I like silver, but gold will have it's heyday WAY before silver does, and that heyday will be caused solely by the boomers making moves with their money.
