The worst part is that I finally just accepted I couldn't risk it anymore and bought Link only a few days before mainnet was announced. I could ended up with a fraction of what I have now.

I have. Thats why I don't swing trade link. ever. I think many linkies are playing with a time bomb by doing it. In fact i saw last year on google pump and coinbase pump. so many got fucked. I felt bad for them. all the "TA" was correct, and it didnt have any reason to pump after mainnet, so they shorted. kept going up, no big deal they added more sells. then google randomly tweet and they lost literally everything they worked so hard for swinging for months.
The salt was crazy.

That kind of random event can happen at any time.
Hell, In november 2018 I had a 450,000 USD contract short on bitmex, around 10x leverage at 6516
It went straight to 3k not long after. What happened?
I tried to add shorts at 6450, and i fat fingered it and closed the entire position.
Of course i wasn't going to reshort instantly because that would have been a bad idea.... but.
