So apparently someone who dod 3 yrs of all engineering fields. 3 yrs of accounting, and 3 years of every stem subject is "less educated" than someone that did 4 yrs of sociology.

Ik someone that did 3/4ths of an electrical engineering degree before dropping out. They have been unemployed for years and got depressed. Probably suicidal. They have the same job prospects of an 18 yr old.

I also know someone that did some fluff degree that was legit as easy as middle school. Now they make over 20 an hr.

Clown fuckign world. College is a scam. College shouldnt be a part of the screening process. It's FUCKED UP how someone who invests more effort gets ass fucked just because they didnt get that piece of paper.

The lesson? Humans are retards and this is a clown world.
As a result, if you arent an exceptional human, just do the easiest as shit degree.

What a retarded country. Down syndrome country. Dumbasses. Fucking joke country. This is why i'm anti-american.

again, dipshit. Someone could do what I said in the op (3/4ths of every single degree in existence) and be seen as "less educated" as someone who majored in fucking sociology.

Again, this is PROOF that college isnt about "education" or even work ethic. If that were the case, the actual classes taken and units completed would be seen as more valuable than the fucking piece of paper itself.

It have a degree in sociology and a degree in history. I'll also be a licensed teacher before the end of spring. Within my company I'm applying for management and lead positions in different cities, and have already gotten a few interviews.

24 y/o graduated last year. Most people get a degree and end up doing work that is not related to it at all. The degree says that you're able to learn and finish a project. The last year is the hardest. I'm not suggesting that a 4 year sociology degree is equivalent to a 3 year engineering degree, only that the level increases, so a person that did 3 years each for each degree, did not do the capstone piece of the degree. Also, nobody like that exists, the closest person is like a genius that has read broadly. Supposedly if someone is making the effort to study so many different subjects they are doing it for a purpose which is probably not monetary.

Do you think people just walk into jobs fresh out of college and become the CEO? Many jobs only promote from within for entry level management so the only way to get in the game is start on the bottom rung.

I never said my pay was impressive. My point was that it's more than my best friend who is a STEM major. People skills can earn you just as much as your job skills.

It depends entirely on their attitude and approach in life. If you get a degree then sends your resume en masse to a bunch of places ,never hear back then complain about the job market, your degree will be worthless no matter what you studied.

A degree isn't the end of your education or professional development. Get any job you can, and learn every skill and task you can. BUILD A RESUME. Get licenses and take classes for certification. There's all kinds of random certificates out there you can get for basic shit like computer courses, workplace safety, and conflict resolution. Hell, if you can complete a major in gender studies and that alone tells the military you have one of the basic qualifications to be an officer and have responsibility over the lives of other people. You have to MAKE YOUR DEGREE WORTH IT.

Most people just want to be corraled into a job that pays the bills and to have a bit of job security. When boomers went to college any degree could reasonably guarantee this. now there is a huge proportion of utterly worthless degrees that a predatory higher education system pressures high school grads into taking in the name of profit. universities were not always run like megacorps and still aren't in some countries. instead of training the elite of the next generation they are now just another vampire on society. it is still ultimately college students' fault for falling for it but you have to acknowledge they're up against it.

What? How is not STEM not highly valued in society? For the last 20 years there has been a major push to get people into STEM fields, american news media is obsessed with studies from scientists, all sports have become incredibly data and analytics driven. Our culture is religously obessed with science.

STEM and computer skills have been the most highly desired skills on the job market for the entirety of the last decade. I don't even know how you can say that. Are STEM grads just not appreciated enough until they all recieve a complimentary blowjob in addition to a diploma?

If you want to see an underappreciated field look at historical studies. People ignore the past and constantly try to erase it. Cultural sites all over the world are destroyed either in religious wars or to create urban crawl space. Museums are underfunded and empty. People only want dramatizations of history with a clear good and evil side. The true grey morality of it all is never discussed outside academia and niche documentaries. I'm biased as history major, to say STEM is undervalued is just ridiculous. I've been told for the last 7 years my degree would be worthless yet it's opened many doors, yet the STEM market is the shrinking one because of chinks and pajeets.

You have bigger things to worry about than not being able to find a job with your unfinished degree. Like what to do with the puddle of radioactive mush inside your skull after you are done having your psychotic break.

You're dumb and belligerent but you also don't understand that the things you are saying are actually crazy. You're completely unaware that you are outside of the bounds of reason. When you hit rock bottom its going to be really, really hard landing. The problem with crazies like you is that even when you hit your low point you keep drilling because you don't understand how fucked you are.

You will never be valued for demonstrating you do not like finishing tasks. That is all an uncompleted degree means to somebody. It doesn't matter how hard the coursework was. It will never matter.

Started on 45k dollarydoos and now making 100k.
Get hit up by FAANG recruiters for US based jobs and also get hit up for 200k jobs here.

>Oh yes. You 100% NEED sociology to be an administrator since it develops your "soft skills" aka talking to people fucking KEK!
holy shit I think you unironically need to take that course to develop your soft skills

>> No.17181842

Why this focus on an imaginary sociology major?
If you’re an engineering major you’re going to compete with other STEM majors, not liberal arts

If I’m an employer and I meet two people in the same major, one with a degree and one who dropped out, who should I pick?

The world isn’t made of robots, people are willing to give others a chance if they can show they deserve it.
If you’re a dropout you’ve got to find some other way to show your value, explain why you dropped out and provide evidence of your ability, like previous work experience, some project you’ve worked on independently, or a portfolio of some kind.

Most dropouts dont do this because they are burnouts and drug addicts, or else mentally unfit to function in the modern world.
This is true everywhere, even outside of America.

Why you commies have to inject capitalism into every argument?

>> No.17181878

A communist state wouldn’t allow such wasteful idleness and stick someone like this in a factory.

You realize in China there is even more pressure and if you fail your end of education exam you are basically fucked for life, even worse if you drop out of school.

Fucking western schools are so lenient, you can waste everyones time and still get loads of chances, there is no excuse not to just do it unless you have legitimately bigger plans (you likely don’t)

No we’re talking about who’s qualified
I don't care about corporate structure and that is irrelevant.
No one wants a potential black hole in their company regardless of who is in charge or how decisions regarding personnel are made.
And why should they? There’s no plot to keep people like this out of the workforce, its just no one cares that someone said you had potential when you were in high school if you failed to live up to said potential.

Not every argument, specifically this one, because it's about how you get jerbs. But you already knew that.

Also cos it is how society is structured so it's relevant to most arguments anyway.

I have a bachelors and masters in Mechanical and then Electrical specializing on semiconductor optics and laser design.

Any autist can chegg the hw and cheat on the finals. 1/3 of people in the US who start an engineering degree switch out before graduation, and I'm pretty sure it's just because of the bullshit hw load when they could have just copied it and partied like me.

As on all hw, Cs on all tests = B with some finagling
