Another sunday, another bi-weekly payment of Link directly to my wallet without any effort. Completely passive income.
How much did you get this time, fellow LP holders?

>Chainlink staking doesn't even go live this year.
And here is the secret that everyone keeps sleeping on:
ETH will switch to proof of stake way before Chainlink nodes have the collateralization feature implemented. Linkpool will act as an ETH staking pool as well.
LP share holders will get rewards from all income sources whether it be from ETH nodes, Link nodes, fees from Node as a Service (NaaS), marketplace fees and whatever else Jonny is currently working on.

Its like saying "Yes, I am 18" when going on a porn site.
They need to ask the user, but they don't care if underage people browse the site.
Same for LP. They don't want to become a target of the SEC. US citizens holding LP have nothing to worry about. Its always the issuer of securities that are the target.
Chainlink itself is registered on the Cayman Islands for the same reason of avoiding the SEC.

Sure. Chainlink has a total supply of 1 billion token, but only 350 million are in circulation.
Additional 350 million are reserved to help the network grow, basically paying node operators for running a node.
Linkpool gets paid 0.66 Link every 10 minutes and another 0.8 Link every hour. All paid out of these 350 million.

The last 300 million are Sergey's personal stack.

Id been struggling with the same question and said fuck it. Bought 1 lp for 28 Eth. Probably overpriced but I just think that LP will have the highest collateral and highest reputation nodes so I think the return will be there easily. Think about how much link they will be staking if for every LP token they sold (1000), they staked 500 link. We’re looking at 500,000 link to be staked across multiple high reputation nodes that will be ready to go live day 1 of staking. I don’t think there will be another pool service that will be able to touch it for a while at least. So we’re going to see LP participate in the highest collateral contracts for day 1, building a sting rep for all of their nodes. They’re a first mover in the space with a line directly into the Chainlink team via Johnny. There too much up side IMO to pass it up

There is a DEX where people trade their LP on the open market. Price is volatile and is currently at about ~25 ETH per share (buy orders at that price would likely get filled fast).

Have some patience and wait for buy orders to get filled. Buying into the sell order book side will always give you way worse prices because the spread is so high.

Dude no, LP plans to stake 10 mil pretty soon and that is only so low because they care about the network not getting too centralized.
In the long run Linkpool will easily stake 3-4% of the total supply of Chainlink, which is 30-40 million Link.

Right, I was just trying to stay conservative and didn’t have the numbers on hand. I’m sure there will be other pools that come along and they will probably make money, but the amount of LINK that Linkpool will have access to for staking will be almost infinite after they open it up to people who do not own LP shares. I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. I guess there’s a chance I’m wrong but I really don’t see it. 35k link and 1LP token are going to build me generational wealth

Do I need to have linkpool share to stake on linkpool platform? I currently hold 2k link. Can one buy linkpool share still or no? If ya, how? Lastly, what's the payout or link pool for staking(e.g. I stake all 2k link [or 2k link worth of lip share?])? How often is payout and what percent of primal stake is returned?

As the network grows and matures, staking will be opened up to non LP holders. They will also offer Node as a service, where they basically set up your node for you and provide the infrastructure and you provide the LINK, but I don’t think there’s a pricing model for that yet

>Do I need to have linkpool share to stake on linkpool platform?
At first yes, for about a year or so. After that everyone can stake on LP. They have the share requirement at the start to make sure that Linkpool share holders get to stake all their Link before people without can.

> Can one buy linkpool share still or no?
Yes, here: https://staking.linkpool.io/dex
Its a DEX, so you are buying from other people, not from LP themself. Be aware of the high spread between buy and sell orders. Be patient and wait for your buy order to get filled instead of buying into a way more expensive sell order.

>Lastly, what's the payout or link pool for staking
No one knows yet, not Linkpool, not Sergey, no one. How many smart contracts requesting oracle data will there be in the future? How much are they willing to pay for each request?
Chainlink nodes don't get paid from inflation like current masternodes do (or ETH will). They get paid from actual usage.

>What percent of primal stake is returned?
Linkpool gives 75% of the node earnings to the people that have staked their Link on the pool. The 25% cut then gets distributed among all shareholders.

They have a DEX live here:
https://staking.linkpool.io/dex
You need to use something like Metamask to connect to their dex, it’s easy to get set up. After connecting metamask just go and select any of the open orders and you’re golden. After you buy a share or part of a share an ‘Ownership’ tab will be open you can see your rewards to date, etc. I’m probably

You can set up a buy order now. Fill the price in and the amount of LP you want to buy.
Note that the price you set is always per 1 LP. So lets say you want to buy 0.04 LP for a price of 25 ETH per 1 LP, then your order size is 1 ETH.

Yes, the returns come from the one Linkpool node that is getting paid by the Chainlink team, which at current Link prices are about $12k per month.
Of course the returns per share aren't crazy right now, coming from just one node, but in the not so distant future Linkpool will stake at least 10 million Link running on hundreds of nodes.

Yeah, thats the spirit of decentralization. Let Binance manage 1/3 of the supply in their nodes and Coinbase another 1/3, no problem at all.
Also, given that people are ultra lazy I would not be surprised if the large exchanges take more than a 25% cut for their service.
The more pools there are the better for the whole network. Get some LP and stake with it.

I kind of fomoed into LP last year after smoking a shit load of weed and getting sucked into those weird esoteric 42 archive threads
Maybe that was impulsive as I don’t fully understand if it’ll be worth it when staking finally drops but I have 50,000 stinkies and 1 LP
Been enjoying the bi-weekly micro gains purely for the novelty but what the fuck am I actually in for with this set up
In full expect to be disappointed by ridiculously low staking gains that don’t justify the ridiculous price I paid for 1 LP share it was like 40 ETH although ETH was pretty low at that point last year
