Thank you for being my frens through the past 3 years, frens. i really struggled (and failed) to be a profitable trader throughout 2018 and most of 2019 and was on the brink of giving up many times. it wasn't until late 2019 that i have finally figured out the trading strategy that works best for me and ever since, i haven't had a week that i lost money. without /biz/ i probably would have given up somewhere in 2018. Thank you for everything, there's some real frens on /biz/. also AMA i'm happy to give back if i can help some frens out

my risk on every trade is defined by position size and stop loss, so i never risk more than 2% of my account which is the most important thing. but the rest is the hard part ofc, finding good entry and stop loss spots which i have developed an eye for in 3 years. combining it all with good risk management was what made the difference for me and it a lot of work to figure out what's the best for me.
there's no magic strategy or indicator that can do the trading for you, it was a shitton of hard work

What were you trading and with how much money? I've only traded on binance spot and margin markets, so I don't really get how futures trading works. Is futures leverage same as margin leverage? As in, if you have $1000 in your futures account and you decided trade that 1k with x50 leverage, and btc does 100%, would that result in 50k PNL?

>>17142301
i've been trading shitcoins as well as eth/btc. the account started out with 5 btc that i still had left after losing money for 2 years. it's almost the same thing as binance margin trading but you don't trade any actual coins, you just trade contracts based on the coin's price. you'd make 50k yes

This is basically the same as my strategy that made me 68% in 3 months.

I stopped trading because I started working full time, and have been a subpar investor.

Essentially my strategy was 0.5% stop losses, and I would try to scalp 2-5% on big moves in oil with leveraged ETFs.

Like 70% of my trades were profitable because I would only enter when momentum was on my side.

it's not something like a simple trick that you can easily apply yourself. you gotta figure out where to enter and exit positions and set up as many trades as possible. i'm getting stopped out of like 75% of my trades, but the ones that don't get stopped gain more than enough to make up for it.
in the last bullrun you could just go long at any time, or buy any dip. i often was deep in the red but just added to it because it was gonna go up again anyways. that's what fucked me hard in 2018

I've tried that, but most of the time I get stopped out. I suppose the issue is that I do this with very volatile shitcoins that can pump or dump 5-10% in minutes. Like yesterday, I tried to time some scalps on WRX, STX and OGN, but half of my trades failed. I really should stop playing the alt casino. BTC/ETH are a lot more predictable, but I don't have patience to wait 2h for a 0,5% scalp.

I don't think you'd find even a single person who'd choose earning 40k/y by wageslaving over earning 40k/y being a chad trader and your own boss.

but futures trading has a liquidity price, so you say you risk 2% but there is a point where your entire account is at risk, however unlikely

yeah you have to trade there, but it has improved a lot especially the pro platform. Anyway, would be cool if you decided to start one to trade a little bit of your capital. I would join immediately. I'm already following 2 trams and both are profitable.

Not so many afaik but you can usually tell the ones that are. I like the first day in chat guys that come in for a bit talking shit until they get banned by drow. Comfy place to be honest. Like I said earlier, haven't been on this board for a couple of years.

grats op. I just became profitable. Just exited a $300 trade now and re-entered to compound my position. Very stoked to get to your level one day. I'm happy to hear we employ the same strategy. I see a lot of based traders on twitter using it but you can never know the size of their account so it's nice to see that it's clearly fokkin yuje.
