Coffee stains and rusty staples. That's the real white paper. BSV is the real bitcoin.

can't be bitcoin must follow the nakamoto consensus. since bch broke that and sv is a shitfork of that shitfork you are shit out of luck.

>> No.17135195

>>17135121
dead serious anon. the only chain that follows the original nakamoto consensus started by satoshi himself and thus is meaningfully the longest chain within that consensus with the most accumulated proof of work is bitcoin aka btc.

once you start fucking with the difficulty you lose the meaning of "longest chain". since it's no longer the largest cumulative proof of work. and anyone can do a "longest chain" if he doesn't have to adhere to the nakamoto consensus.

bch and sv disregards the entire point of bitcoin. the blockchain and everything else is meaningless without it. the blockchain is not some sacred cow that you have to keep forever. it's a way to achieve distributed byzantine tolerant consensus in a trustless manner. but there is one little issue there: it doesn't do that if you don't have the majority hash.

>> No.17135247

>>17135195
the miners will come to bsv and abandon btc, what then?

>> No.17135273

>>17135247
so they gonna put in 3500 yottahash overnight and make sv the longest chain magically? even if that happens an old bitcoin client (pre-segwit) would never sync up with the sv chain. you are still fucked no matter how i look at it. once you break the nakamoto consensus there is no going back.

maybe try a consensus fork next time...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOlvOiGPPio

>> No.17135409

>>17135327
no you got it all wrong. bitcoin nodes can't sync up to sv chain. because it's fucked. well there are multiple technical reasons but if you slightly altered an old client like removed the block limit and stuff then started feeding it the block of btc and sv (network magic word would prevent accidental contest normally so this take a little effort) it would sync up to btc. simple as that.

>> No.17135473

>>17135409
so all btc miners need to do is update their node clients?

>> No.17135474

>>17135398
i can only tell you what bitcoin is and what it is not. and bitcoin is the longest valid chain (this is important because it means the original consensus algo which is set in stone and includes difficulty adjustment) with the most accumulated proof of work.
here is a nice pasta that sums it up perfectly:

what bitcoin is:
- a trustless permissionless publicly auditable ledger that is also secure
- a non-custodial peer-to-peer electronic payment system
- a network of nodes enforcing a common ruleset shaping a common reality in a trustless manner
- the longest blockchain under the consensus ruleset with the largest commulative hash proven by a specific form of proof of work
- a protocol that describes how consensus is reached on ordering transactions and how difficulty and coinbase supply adjusts over time
- a greater consensus on the ruleset that governs the protocol
- a standard reference client implementation created by nakamoto and maintained as an open source project
- an unspent transaction output spendable to a script returning true

what bitcoin is not:
- a whitepaper
- a gargantuan garbage dump of stale data stored immutably forever
- whatever satoshi said in a forum post
- whatever faketoshi dreams up in delirium
- whatever sv jeets shrill and rave about currently

>> No.17135490

>>17135473
their clients are perfectly up to date.

>> No.17135494

Ah yes because we know Craig hasnt backdated shit before.
>scribble paraphrases from whitepaper on old notepad

>> No.17135503

>>17135490
after moving to bsv i meant

>> No.17135513

>>17135473
also i think you missed the point. the point was sv is not bitcoin and it can't ever be bitcoin for the simple reason it does not follow bitcoin protocol. and the proof of this is that clients from before the bch fork that would have a choice between sv and btc blocks would pick btc blocks. because btc blocks adhere to the consensus rules. which makes bitcoin bitcoin.

ain't that just semantics? bitcoin is what is described in the white paper, i'm sure you can do some compromises to achieve the state of the real bitcoin

>> No.17135612

>>17135557
>ain't that just semantics?
not if you understand what makes bitcoin the bitcoin. it's testnet followed the whitepaper 100% (except for 1 paragraph) litecoin could arguably said followed the bitcoin whitepaper 100% (except for 1 paragraph) yet neither of them was bitcoin.

the reason for this is simple what makes bitcoin truly bitcoin is consensus and not just any consensus a very specific consensus started by satoshi. the whitepaper could have a billion implementations one more perfect than the other. you could make an implementation where you remove scripting and pretty much only allow outputs spend to signatures basically hardcode p2pk or p2pkh. but you could never make a new bitcoin. none of those implementations ever would be bitcoin just as 0xbtc is not fucking bitcoin.
