>Nintendo began moving part of its production to Vietnam from China in 2019 as supply chains were hit by the Sino-US trade war. But it does not have enough capacity in the Southeast Asian country to offset the disruption from the outbreak.

> Supply of the Ring Fit Adventure gadget, already hard to find in some countries, is also being affected, Nintendo added.

>“We will continue to work to deliver products as soon as possible while paying close attention to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, and we look forward to your understanding,”

>“So Nintendo already had a similar supply problem domestically that lasted for months, albeit for different reasons. It didn’t hurt demand later,” Toto told CNBC.

>“I think you will see the same with the Switch, the ‘Animal Crossing’ special edition and ‘Ring Fit Adventure.’ People will buy these later.”

>all these people in ONTX on here and stocktwits
>BUY BUY BUY WE'RE GOING TO $5 IN A WEEK I HAVE MY 10K SHARES READY FOR THE BUYOUT
This really screams red flags. You know that image "its not enough I should succeed, others should fail"? I feel this really applies to the stock market. I might actually sell before news drops because like every other time in a situation like this, it ends up dropping fast and hard. Then all the people are left wondering "what happened, wasn't the news good??". I just can't see a penny stock with so many people involved and such a high volume going as planned. I'm sorry, but I don't believe this many people can make it at once and so easily.

On the other hand, I saw on the same day ONTX presents, GALT does as well. Every time a stock shoots up fast and hard, it's one no body knew about. A sleeper that everyone missed out on. This always happens, and wouldn't surprise me if it happens again. From what I understand, they plan to begin Phase 3 Q1 this year, so it makes me believe that is their announcement. Is this enough to actually pump it though? I'm not too familiar with the stock, but I know our resident name/trips do. If savanon or Pendulum read this, would you mind sharing your opinion?

from my experience, you'd do far better to buy the rumor and sell the news instead of playing a news event itself. make your money off of the hype building up to an event (like a potential buyout), sell as it peaks before the event, find out whether they succeeded or failed, then get back in for the drift after the gap up or down.

the problem is that everyone is a little bitch that wants the play the event itself and then they get mad when they lose. i keep this pic as a stark reminder and meditate on it every so often.

oh god, this hurts to read. this is what happened with me when i bought into SGMO right after ISTH on July 8th, they were moving their HemA drug to phase 3 iirc and it was looking like they had a "best in class" cure for it with gene therapy. i basically bought at the top, and had to suffer through an over 30% drawdown for over 5 months. i held on praying for ASH in december to save me, and thank God it did. look at the chart for SGMO some time if you're curious as to how it's doing now, i got out with a $2k profit off of 3k shares at ASH, and then it absolutely fucking collapsed, again even though the news was good. i can just imagine so many other bagholders in that stock now, being in the same position i was in July. it hurts to imagine.

never again. being in AMD in comparison is like night and day. what a concept, investing in a company on the bleeding edge of innovation with a hugely positive social sentiment, who actually has a competent and popular CEO/management who actually give a shit about the investors, who actually have products they sell that generate revenue instead of just selling a pipedream. never again with those meme low float cheapo stocks.

a bit, out of morbid curiousity. last i checked it dropped below the MAJOR support level of $8 and hasn't recovered above it since, is currently 7.57. if you wanna try selling me on it again feel free but i don't see it. i'll tell you this, if i were to buy it, it would be on a rally leading up to a catalyst, and i'd probably sell it either soon before the catalyst or sell half and hold to sell the other half on a potential spike in the premarket of the event. it's not getting over $12 any time soon so you'd want to potentially set yourself up for a run up to that, but the question is wtf is going to cause that run because currently it's under $8 and therefore is shit. they had some bad news on the beta thal and i think they had some issues with the SB-525 stuff recently too but i don't remember, some problem with one of the patients in the trial.

see, AMD can go down and im still cool with it because i know it's a fantastic company and have confidence it will continue to make highs, at least through 2020. SGMO is the opposite, idk why anyone would want to own it currently but again, feel free to tell me if you know anything. i still keep the IV for it as one of my home pages, i use it to remember why cutting your losses and understanding risk is important, as well as how extremely important management is to a company's success or failure. sandy macrae is a fucking disaster with a huge ego.

you're lucky you even got AMD at $46 before it continues up, that's the thing. even with a worldwide panic that tanks the whole market and coming off of an overhyped earnings, they still only dipped that low, really speaks to the resiliency of the company. it was really obvious tutes were buying up all the cheapies too if you just looked at the OBV on a tick chart since around noon time after earnings.

Yeah, i feel the same way about playing the news. But sometime a distinction can be made, say, if the outcome is not so sure, but you think you know better than the rest. Then it's a good idea to go through. When everybody expects good news it leads to pump and dump in many cases. Then there are also those cases when the market is simply irrational and what happens is beyond reason. I try to avoid playing the news and just buy depending on the difference in the market cap and my own valuation.
I don't expect much from the galt presentation. I am curious of what Shlevin will say, but it probably won't be anything new. However the actual start of their phase3 will start an uptrend because finally there will a timeline of what to expect and when. Investors might also start to reevaluate the company and look into their data of previos phase2 trials, but that certainly won't happen overnight. It's a good time to buy now, but it needs time to realize its value. Also, buyout can come anytime, but that's the speculation part of it.

I think these will just fuel the slow uptrend a bit, and these kinds of articles will start to come out as galt gets some recognition stepping into the big boy league. As per buyout chances, i don't think these articles matter. Some anon made a nice pasta of supportive arguments the other day that had some merit as well. Gilead has suspiciosly high cash balance and failed nash attempts, so that's not a bad speculation, but galt fits bmy even more i think. For example they could run a psoriasis trial with it right after they were forced to sell the psoriasis drug from the celgene acquisition. That would be fun

i... don't know? advice me one, maybe i just don't know what "index fund" translates to into my language

looks like it's a collection of stocks that just matches the stocks that make up an index, like the dow jones? i don't have anything like that. do you get dividends from those? i think there's a fee also to whoever manages the collection. isn't it better to just have the stocks directly?

>>17132518
thanks but looks like a pretty new company and their dividends haven't been increasing or holding steadily. also looks like they didn't pay regular dividends during 2017 and 2018 but instead had 3 bonus dividends in 2018, kinda weird

Why is the market selling off hard on this "better than expected" jobs report? The answer is that massive downward revision to historical data. Turns out the big jobs boom in 2018 was a lie. Bloomberg put together some charts breaking out the different sectors, here's retail revisions
