I'm glad I expat'd from America. Tipping is the most retarded cultural practice I've ever seen. It should be the job of the business to pay you what you expect to make in tips. Just bake the cost of it into the product the consumer buys.

tipping enables employers to not pay people a good wage for time, allowing their base pay to be variable rather than consistent.
This breeds bad money handling skills.
The best thing that you can do for a server is NOT tip them and ask for the elimination of the tipped services exceptions clause in the minimum wage law.

Nothing, since I never go anywhere or use any service that requires tipping.
For example:
>restaurants
I only eat meals I prepare myself at home
>hotels
I never travel long distances
>taxis
I walk or use public transportation
>casinos
LOL never been to one in my life

I never tip. Ever. I always order carryout so I don't have to tip. Fuck sitting down at a restaurant and waiting a million years for the waitress to come to you.

Depends on where I am. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of restaurants are now showing the tip amounts at the bottom of the check which is nice but its been steadily increasing. It used to be 10, 15, and 20. Then it was 12, 15, and 20 and now its 15, 20, and 25.

Tips are now being inflated. I can understand paying a hefty tip for a big group of people but if its just one dude then I'll tip between 15 and 20. I also know that fancier restaurants also require greater tips. I've also been noticing that places like jersey mikes are also asking for tips at checkout.

If God is more valuable than money those Christians should tip the server all their money and focus on God instead.

Can confirm, I just got back from a place where the lowest suggested tip was 20%. That used to be the upper-bound, as you said.
