I know that when I was into gambling, I had no plans for the future and didnt care about anything really. I had a good paying but isolated job (Wind Turbines) and had no frens. Only when I quit substance-abuse and thought about what i could be doing instead... This is a good post, thanks Sam. Still no frens tho.
