You need to utilize less than 40% of your credit to maintain and "excellent" rating for that portion of you credit score. Other things that help you stay in good standing with shekelberg:
>100% on time payments, even 99% drops you out of excellent
>25years credit history
>$50,000 available and unused credit
>2 or fewer credit inquiries in the last two years
>2 or fewer new lines of credit/loans in the last two years.
