As both a REFR and TSLA stockholder, I don't believe that Tesla will use SPD-smart glass and I am pretty sure they will come up with their own. There are multiple smart glass companies so the patents cannot be that tight.

It appears they're going to add in a layer of LED to produce lighting within the car. This is an improvement on current smart glass.
>Tesla wants to bring the concept to a new level by also adding a “transparent lighting layer” with LEDs inside, according to a new patent application.

There are real viruses out there made by nature that are this bad or worse. no reason to suspect that they have modified it, viruses mutate enough on their own anyway.

Agreed. My theory is when there is really bad news and the market doesn't drop as much as you think it should that's bullish. Almost like people don't really want to sell and are looking for any excuse to be bullish but are still being cautious. I'm still keeping plenty in reserve should we drop further but unless something really devastating comes out I think we'll be back in the money pretty soon. I almost hope it keeps going though since it's more cheapies

太 Li Taisheng said, according to common sense, the shorter the incubation period of a virus, the stronger its virulence and the greater the number of pathogens. However, according to the data released now, the severity of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus is not at all lower than that of SARS, which is very unusual.

Focus 1: What is the current stage of epidemic development?

Experts predict that the epidemic is now entering a more severe and complicated period. Nationally, the epidemic is still in its early stages of spread. Ma Xiaowei, director of the National Health and Health Commission, said that the current epidemic prevention and control is in a critical period.

If you look at the chart history of SOXL and a synthetic version for before SOXL existed you'll see it tracks the overall market very well just with wider swings and larger upside since the market as a whole benefits from an updraft and technology stocks the same but more. The upshot is SOXL moves about 5x faster than SPY in every direction in the mid and long term. Where Coronavirus carries the market thus goes SOXL. So if this thing does get worse expect a big market dip and mind-numbingly huge dip with SOXL. But then they find a treatment and a cure and the world moves on. SPY goes back to all time high and if you had the presence of mind to go deep into any/all SOXL dips you will be sitting extremely pretty.
More pointedly, I don't expect SOXL to be hit much harder than what the 5x multiple implies so when it drops jump in with both feet. For anybody that doesn't have any at all, right now would be a great time to get started with a few shares.
If you want to be cheeky, should the market really go south, expect volatility to blow through the roof in which case swinging SOXL/SOXS will be the ticket. I'm not a TA fag but I'm not oblivious either so I just look for horizontal lines of support/resistance and buy/sell a few shares. That way you can lower your average price for SOXL and have something to do while we wait for the real gains.

This thing seems to be very contagious and very harmful. We don't have a full view of it now, because we are in the early stages of the outbreak. But the spread seems to be completely unconstrained.

Based on what? A handful of dead chinks? Nothing about this indicates it is any worse than other previous scares. Allegedly overrun hospitals means nothing. People flood hospitals when they are scared which happens easily when the media tells them about an impending pandemic.

Major is business administration. I just want to finish my bachelors that I started when was out of high school. Did 2 years at community college and paid cash as I went through work, took a break because I didn't know what I wanted to major in, decide I should finish because the more time that passes the less I'll want to do it. I know it isn't a good degree like STEM but I'm not smart enough for STEM (can't do math beyond algebra really) but I'm hoping I can finesse something. I've had to pass up on some employment opportunities because I couldn't check off the HR box for a bachelors degree. I'm not as spergy as a lot of people who come here and I've got a decently sized network and am always meeting new people who like me and think I'm smart and charismatic but I have a really poor self image and a total lack of direction. Kind of feel like I'm just stumbling along and trying to keep adding money into some investments so I don't entirely ruin my life because so far it feels pretty bad

I had reservations when I was younger because I wasn't sure what I'd be getting into and how much it would really do for me. I tried some more physically demanding jobs that, while fine for youth, I wouldn't want to do as I age. I was dubious that a degree would be able to do anything for me but now that I've seen first hand that I can get plugged into some companies that people in my network work at it makes a little more sense for me to finish my bachelors since I can see some opportunities that would be readily available as I've already seen them, would increase my pay, and I wouldn't be financing all 4 years at high cost since I paid for my first 60 credits in cash. I'd love to make the perfect move every time but I'm not perfect and hindsight is 20/20. I'm just trying to be better today than I was yesterday. When the day comes for the Grim Reaper to take me home I will at least be able to look back and say that I made an attempt instead of wondering about "what if"

We already know it will be worse than SARS. It may not have the same mortality rate (we don't know yet), but we definitely know it's spreading much more quickly (R0 of 3-5 wtf!!!), and unlike SARS people are infectious even before they have any symptoms. That is HUGE, compounded with the fact that China was late to start containment procedures, compounded with all the Lunar New Year travel, etc...

SARS caused 8000 cases over TWO YEARS with a mortality rate of 9.6%. nCov is now at 3000 cases in less than a month. High mortality rate actually hinders a virus' ability to spread. What's worse, 10k infections with 9.6% deaths, or 1 million infections with 4% deaths?

And that is assuming that the mortality rate is only 4%, which is impossible to know at this early stage.

Also, note that for the similar coronaviruses SARS and MERS, there was NEVER any vaccine able to be developed. I don't expect any vaccine to be able to be developed for this either.

Yeah. At some point the secondary effects of the crisis kick in.The problems will multiply as described here as quarantine allows the economy, as the "just-in-time" global business model behind to get stressed, you're looking at runs on all available stock, until food in particular becomes scarce, people are going to panic, they are going to riot, they are going to break the quarantine. Imagine being able to remember anything you want no matter what with perfect fidelity. Basically makes memory a choice rather than an ad hoc phenomenon. Also makes studying much more efficient so no more rereading, highlighting or any of that shit. Med school students who have to memorize 10s of thousands of obscure esoteric shit swear by spaced repetition. The idea is when you are exposed to any piece of information there is an exponential decay curve for your probability of being able to recall it. It's found that if you are forced to actively recall the information when you have about a 90% chance of recall, the curve is reset but shallower. Generally every exposure is twice as long as the previous one. So you see something on day one then recall the next day. Then 2 days, then 4, and so on. Once you get to about the 21 day mark the memory is considered permanent. The trick to actively recalling when you have the 90% probability is you don't waste time looking at something before you need to so it makes studying that much more efficient.
Have you ever been just about to forget something but then right at that moment you thought really hard and suddenly remembered then afterwards noticed that thing in particular is now really easy to remember? That's the spacing and active recall effect and Anki hijacks it and makes it intentional.

Why?
Only volkswagen and toyota are larger in its branche.
Everything car related is factored in.
I could see them becoming the new GE that makes many things and powers the new renewable battery based electric economy.
But thats a big if.
And its already as big as the old GE mind you.
Was a great buy at 180 when i bought it. Sold way too early but im not going back in over 400.
