Anyone ever got a loan to buy crypto?

quite a few people around the EOY 2017 peak, they are all dead now

>> No.16989311

many did, but that usually happen at peak of bubble and they end-up in debt. Don't know why you wouldn't just leverage money though. Many exchanges offer it.

Dave Ramsey says NO. imo it's bad for mental health (always price checking, hoping youre gonna make it based on factors out of your control), and it's unhealthy for the market in general

let’s say you have 10k in your bank account and get a loan of 8k and put it into crypto. wouldn’t that be sort of like leverage trading?

I had $600 extra from student loan. Got a playstation and some crypto. Lost the private key tho. Still have the playstaion tho.

I'm unironically doing this. Figure I'll have sell off points that beat just sinking money spent on the card in a 2% account and collecting interest instead. As long as I can pull the trigger and not get greedy, I shouldn't completely collapse my credit score.

40k loan in december 17. Immediately tripled it on stellar, then jumped around various alts through 2018 losing money all the while. Settled all-into LINK last winter, then sold 25k LINK prematurely at $1.10 to clear the remainder of the loan. I had DCA'd a fuck ton so I still had 80k LINK left, and I profited somewhere between $20-$30k on the loan overall, in my estimation.

Still, it sucked seeing LINK go to $4.00 just a month later and thinking how I could have paid back the principal using just 6000 LINK instead of 25000 if I'd just waited a few more weeks. But the mainnet release was so disappointing after all the assblaster LARPs, I figured $1.00 might really the final exit pump.

Holding that loan for over a year, paying $1200 monthly payment while my blockfolio constantly wavered between 0% and -50% ROI really wasn't worth it, would have been less stressful and probably more profitable just DCAing harder through 2018.

i first got into crypto with buying LINK
took out a $17k loan with super high apr and bought LINK at $0.20
took some profits at the coinbase listing, paid back my loan then filled large bags of RSR

by 2025 i should be a mega millionaire but this shit is my only fucking hope so if it fails i just give up on life.

How much did you take out? For a 12-18 month payment, doesn't seem like it would be awful. Suppose I'm playing a dangerous game since I am already paying so much in other debts though but eh
