Clarifying some disinformation that is often being spread in threads like this:
>Pi is not mined by app users, it is a pre-mined token
>The App does consume miniscule amounts of power, approx 1-5 cents a year, depending on local prices
>though often implied, the size of the group whose member's code you use is irrelevant to your bonus (inviter gets +0.1 per invitee; invitee becomes a new inviter; repeat ad infinitum), "join the X number of us" is a misleading phrase since you will ever only be connected to one person in the group, the inviter.
That being said: Pi is an interesting project, it is "free" money since token value can not be 0.00 $ and power consumption is negligible. Halving steps for artificial scarcity are being executed faithfully so far. Thus, the sooner you get in the more you can gain. Nobody knows where Pi will go once it hits exchanges but it's as good a shot as any obscure shitcoin.
If you are interested and appreciate transparency use invite code:

Good for you anon, if things go well you'll get a year's salary out of this. If things go really well it'll be a pension. Imagine retiring on a button press, what a time to be alive.

>>16967755
I'm at 30-40% activity most of the time, but I built most of my earning team shortly after the 1M halving. I'd really like to see the devs metrics for classifying a user as an "engaged pioneer". It's probably a pretty low activity threshold, like 4-8 mining sessions a month or something like that...

What does everyone think of the February/early March halving prediction? Is it still accurate? If not, what are your estimations?

>> No.16968126

>>16968055
Who knows how much it will be worth, but I'm pretty sure the majority will dump this coin as soon as it's tradeable.

As for the selling target:
If their goal of 10M "pioneers" is reached, then the app will be in the mainstream territory, with a good amount of fortune and hope some "influencer" will pick this up, their audience will be the main target for selling.

There are many factors to consider, but there are some indicators that allow us to make somewhat probable ballpark estimations:
>AAcoin
Pi futures used to be for sale on the AAcoin site for 0.15$. Additionally there is a copycat crypto called PiCoin (PI) at roughly 0.2$. However, these have been deemed illegal sales of Pi by the devs, so their usefulness for predicting the actual Pi price is questionable.
>Domain purchase
The Pi core team has recently purchased a domain for 10.000 Pi tokens as part of the in-app transfer pilot. According to Google the value of the domain was roughly 100$, which would put the Pi token value at 0.01$.
>App-based Cryptos
There are several app-based crypto projects that allow you to earn tokens on your phone, such as InitiativeQ or Birdchain. Though none of these can be traded on exchange as far as I'm aware, some have employed voucher systems to exchange tokens for BTC, with values in the 0.002-0.01$ range.
>Electroneum
The most powerful indicator at this point in time is probably the ICO and value graph of Electroneum, another app-based Crypto that can be traded on exchanges. Electroneum started out with a value of 0.05$, then swung in the 0.1-0.3$ range for several months until it collapse down to 0.01$ in mid 2018 and has slowly been bleeding into oblivion ever since.
>Current supply
The current Pi token supply is estimated to be at roughly 800 million. Depending on the growth rate a supply of 1-2 billion tokens upon initial exchange listing seem likely. However, the amount of illegitimate Pi generated by bots and Pi farms in Asia is unknown and the supply may be drastically lowered by token burning during KYC implementation.
>Overall supply
Premined supply of 5k coins (not to be confused with air dropped supply) per user at 10M downloads means ~20B tokens. Projects with similar supply:
-Stellar (20B coins) = 0.05$
-Cardano (25B coins) = 0.03$

Based on this information I consider 0.01-0.1$ upon listing likely.

So were all tokens/coins affiliated with exit scams. Yet the instigators repeatedly made millions of dollars off these scams, while early adopters and lucky bystanders made 10s of thousands.
Even if you are convinced the devs to have malicious intent or the project to be doomed to fail you'd have to be delusional to assume that making profit off of it is an impossibility. Getting a stack is an absolute no-brainer if you have been following crypto these past few years. Now imagine for a second that the devs have good intentions.
The only sensible reasons to avoid Pi are ethical concerns under the assumption that it's an exit scam, in which case the whole crypto industry as it is today is disqualified.

If it was time consuming I would've dropped it months ago and you'd be right by ranting about it, but keeping an app on my phone isn't that taxing.
At worst what could happen is that I'll make a couple bucks by forgetting to uninstall an app. Nightmare

Well, yeah, it IS worthless.
Every discussion about its price is purely a speculation, no one knows how much it will be priced once it hits the exchanges, nor which kind of grow it will have.
Daydreaming about it and shitting on it have the same weight.
