Would it be more prudent to pay off some of my student loan debt, or continue to save money?

well, you know, student debt will increase a lot faster than your savings will

>> No.1695910

Student loan debt is consumer debt, which is bad debt, and should be paid for as soon as possible.

Too risky.

>>1695905

Sure, but interest on my debt is tax deductible, at least.

>>1695910

It's mostly a psychological thing-I hate having debt, and it's like having a constant burden on my shoulders.

do the math and figure it out for yourself

interest on savings - taxes >= interest on loans - tax deductions?

My savings is really just some cash I have and some money in a checkings account.

I'm so poor I wonder if it matters one way or another what I do. It's like being reminded of all my poor life choices everytime I dole out more dollars to my SL debt.

save up 3-6 months of living expenses before paying off your debts

What's the interest rate on your loan?

If you can beat that in the market, why pay it off?
