much safer and higher probability to take your profits before ER then get back in after the drop. AMD is a great company right now though, even if it does drop it should ultimately continue reaching new highs in the long term if that's how you roll. it's such a perfect stock, for both daytrading AND long term.

That's allowed and there's no roadblocks to prevent it so long as you have 25k in your account and are exempt from the pattern day trader rule (assuming you're american). In practice, this isn't going to be an effective strategy as prices move in a general range even when they're essentially flat for the day. It'll knock you out immediately on most trades. The tightest stop loss you should use is about 1% and that's only if you've decided to sell anyway and are just hovering over the button waiting for the spread to possibly move in your favor before end of day.

No blown earning report, no bad trial data. In fact the recent news (investor report) is good. So the recent action is just the fat cat investor groups doing everything they can to load up as many shares cheaply as they can buy. Before the good things the company is doing comes to light. And sends the stock price up. Don't be afraid. Be glad. Use the games to your advantage. Bagging cheap shares is always a plus if the outcome is a fat green bag of cash.
