How would the government (Canada in my case) know if I own bitcoin and if I made gains and cashed out with gold? Isn’t the whole point of bitcoin anonymity?

nice creepshot.

if the person you buy the gold from keeps record they could trace the transactions until it was on exchange and they can simply ask the exchange to give your info.

They know when you touch centrally controlled pieces. They might know what ip initiates txn broadcasting. They outsource chain analytics to companies then do not ask the methods those companies use and give them access to exchange logs.
The safest way to ensure privacy is to do p2p transactions over private networks. Also, pay your taxes and track your transactions. This is not advice for tax evasion but the more people that insist on privacy while following the statist laws, the more we assert our rights.

If I buy from Apmex how would the government of Canada know I bought gold with bitcoin? I don’t think they go to foreign sellers and ask for records. They would if i bought on a Canadian site though i imagine.

you buy bitcoin with your debit/credit card on x exchange. if they want to know if you own crypto, they will track your transactions with said card and realize you bought something with a crypto exchange.

the only way is to buy at some bitcoin ATM or buy from individuals at places like localbitcoins.

also, dont do tax fraud. pay your fucking taxes nigger, you're no better than illegal immigrants

You can only buy gold from Apmex and most others if you use Bitpay or similar , and Bitpay requires KYC.

I don't think this is a good idea.
I doubly don't think announcing it on a public forum is a good idea.
