If you're doing it just to be a dick and putting a piece of paper on the car that only says "$1000" on it, technically it would be legal as nobody would expect a Ferrari to be 1k (so long as they cant prove you did it on purpose. If they can, a judge may force you to sell it at the 1k pricepoint). The law assumes that nobody that retarded is able to shop for themselves, so intent on the sellers part would have to be proven.

Dealerships in my experience get away with shady stuff quite often. Wouldn't be surprised if someone pulled it off.

Went with my brother when he was buying a car and they pulled a fast one twice.
A: Increased the price of the car with stupid excuses even though online had a different price. After chipping the price down that they ramped up including them pulling stupid shit like "that part will not be covered by warranty then because it was an additonal part" or having a higher sticker price than online even when it was the same car (vin # was the same) eventually got it to about the price it was listed. Which sucks since they probably added all that so that anyone that negotiates would get stuck with sticker price minus any warranties the applicable stuff had as a further slap. In retrospect I should've negotiated harder for all the sleazy shit they pulled up to that point.
B: Snuck in something we were never told about at the very end and hid it in tiny font on one page while rushing for signatures on multiple pages. Seems like my brother was able to get out of this one otherwise he'd be screwed by about $10,000.

In total a large hassle and we could've saved maybe an additional $1500 and kept the warranties if they didn't pull sleazy and shady moves in the first place. Don't understand why the government loves claiming they're for the people when they so clearly protect the rich and corporations.

Had it not been for the dealerships screwup my brother would likely be out an additional 10k with no legal recourse. The kicker if we were NPC normies we would've been really screwed. Probably 12k+.
