16891464 No.16891464 [Reply] [Original]

I am a marketing exec at a tech company that spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on Google Ads. There's a shitstorm brewing in the marketing world, and more and more of my associates are starting to notice that Google Ads is truly a scam.

>90%+ of advertisers are destined for failure and it's all because of Google's greediness
Increasingly, the decision making is being obfuscated by their platform, and it's allowing the algorithms to basically choose how to spend your budget and set CPC/CPM however they'd like. They also strategically hide numerous critical settings so that new advertisers waste money on things they don't realize they're targeting. To make it worse, if you haven't already noticed, they just rolled out a new update to their SERPs, which has the convenient effect of making ads harder to differentiate from organic results.
>This is artificially boosting CTRs enormously

Now here's the kicker, I have some insider information that Google is starting to notice that marketers are catching on to this scam. Its currently all hands on deck to rescue Alphabet's billion dollar cash cow before it all collapses, and you're going to be seeing a lot in the coming months. The strategy they are about to pursue is completely off-base, and might actually do more harm than good in my opinion.

I'm about to divert a large portion of my budget to other advertising outlets, with Brave Ads being a critical component of this plan. I know numerous other advertisers who either have a similar plan, or are highly interested in Brave.

Make the most of this info, and don't say you weren't warned. I'm fully loaded and ready, are you?

I feel like lots of companies/ad agencies are ready and willing to give Brave and BAT a try, but Brave is not capable of handling that amount of business yet. The self-serving onboarding or whatever the fuck it is supposedly coming mid-2020 should help but still, Brave's infrastructure just isn't there yet.

Hoping for a big year but yeah Google and others are starting to catch on that the current "cookies + 3rd party ads" just isn't going to cut it anymore, especially as more people are catching on to how intrusive they are.

it's almost a little frustrating because advertisers are lined up to pay for Brave Ad campaigns i.e. buy BAT and market their shit, but at the moment we're (Brave users with Brave rewards turned on) just receiving like ~1-2 ads per day with 35 ad campaigns running in the US and BAT sitting at a measly 20 cents.

the Brave Ad system is taking its sweet time with scaling, which could be a good or bad thing I guess

I have no idea and don't have the time to do all the math right this second, but Google earns $30+ billion each quarter off of ad revenues, and will probably increase that substantially in 2019. I'd imagine if Brave even took a small percentage of their ~70% market share, it would greatly inflate the BAT price irrespective of BTC. Also, advertisers can buy Brave Ads with USD, contrary to what /biz/ has been saying, so most advertisers could care less what the cost of BAT is.

>>16891656
>t. PPC agency

>>16891804
This might be true, regardless, advertisers are starting to catch on. I'm not a doomer, but marketing and advertising expenses are some of the first things to go when a business starts to struggle, and it appears to me that Google is trying to load up a war chest and get ahead of problems with these latest tactics.

>>16891816

I am holding off my campaign rollout until the self service platform launches. Was told Q1 last year, but that usually means Q2-Q3 in the tech world.

>>16891818
You could search these "acronym definition marketing", but for the sake of the thread
>CPC = Cost per ad click
>CPM = Cost per 1000 ad views
>CTR = Click through rate
>SERP = Search engine results page

But it gets coverted to BAT, because that's how advertising on Brave works. Users get 70% of the ad revenue. There's no way around that.

The waitlist for advertisers is 10,000+. Self serve ads are coming mid 2020 as well.

I guess Amazon, eBay, Bloomberg, a dozen of the largest charities, and the list goes on are just aiming for “crypto neet aids faggots who never buy anything.”

Can’t believe we have a list of 10K+ all chomping at the bit to advertise to the 11 Million+ neets growing by the minute.

Yeah and 20 of it was from me. I see a lot more value in using bat to buy services and content and shit. BAT is a deflationary asset which inhibits spending, especially giving it away for free (even though I gave a shit load of it away for fun). So in that aspect it's a bad thing. Think BTC. People don't want to use it to buy stuff because they don't want to be the guy that bought a pizza for 10k BTC. But on the other hand, it's what makes the price go up over time. It doesn't matter if the tipping model is a success or not, the only thing that matters is that the supply decreases and users increase.

A more successful tipping model would actually be based in an inflationary currency like USD because it people aren't trying to hoard it. But again, if this were the case then this ponzi shitcoin would never moon
