My thought on alts would more be moonshot hunting. I think bch, eth, and etc are all safe bets in a portfolio because they are coupled with BTC usually, but have weird runs. (maybe not eth) so that leaves room for a few other moonshots, if we ever see one.

how much you have and what's you goal?, if you are putting in 10k-30k in, and want 7 figures in, you should go all in on alts (but well diversified). ,and not too many in the top 20.

if you are more conservative, you should have more bitcoin and ethereum.

people always forget here that if the altcoin market cap goes up to say 1 trillion without counting bitcoin, plenty of low caps that dont die off can easily reach valuations in the 5-30billion range. alts with market caps above say 500 million will really struggle to give more than x100 unless they homerun into the top of the charts.
