Now that I've taken a more active approach and have a big boy Schwab account, should I just pull out entirely from Betterment?
They've been good to me, and it's not like their fees are ruining my life, but I could very easily just write down the ~8 "good low commission ETFs" they googled and replicate it myself for 0.08 instead of 0.25. I'm just scared of how much of an ordeal it'll be (got my Roth IRA there too), and if I'll get dunked on by the taxman in the process.

Nah, I'm mostly exaggerating. LEAPS are generally pretty safe and reasonable. They do have the drawbacks I mentioned, but the time decay isn't nearly as significant at the year+ scale as it is when you're at <1month. As for it being similar to margin, well, that's a double-edged sword, and like you said the upside is that much higher as well.

I think I'm just grumpy that Papa Don cancelled ww3 and guaranteed my short puts are going to assign. I just wanted to collect premiums, damnit!

This new technology gives chefs the power to produce custom, cutting-edge culinary creations. The Brill 3D Culinary Studio will allow them to produce elaborate and personalized bespoke objects to excite their customers.

“Our team at Brill has partnered with 3D Systems to develop a transformative tool for the culinary industry,” says David Nies, Vice President of Business Development for Brill, Inc. “We are thrilled to provide chefs with this technology, which allows them to create anything they can imagine with the touch of a button. And while the objects produced by the 3D Culinary Printer are truly remarkable; this amazing new technology allows us to offer a new customer solution that is low cost and easy to use.”

Through various 2019 test programs, chefs at casinos and restaurants experienced the capabilities of the Brill 3D Culinary Studio firsthand and provided real-time feedback to ensure that every aspect of the technology passed the exacting standards of commercial kitchens.

The integrated solution includes the Brill 3D Culinary Printer and software powered by 3D Systems technology, the Brill 3D Culinary Powder and Brill 3D Culinary Binder, all used in tandem to produce an array of full-color, life-like, and edible 3D figures and embellishments. Chefs can use their own design or select from a library of hundreds of 3D designs to mass-print smaller pieces such as cake decorations, confections, and garnishes or print larger, statement pieces.

“For more than 30 years, 3D Systems’ technologies have been a catalyst for transforming manufacturing – enabling creation of products not possible with traditional methods,” says Menno Ellis, senior vice president and general manager, plastics, 3D Systems.

not much has changed, it's mostly a matter of being patient
I like their recent shift to an adaptive trial
adaptive trials are a lot more flexible and allow the design to be optimized as they go to maximize the effectiveness of the drug and give it a chance to shine to its full abilities
the dedicated hepatic impairment study they'll run alongside the preliminary portion of their phase 3 adaptive trial (it is a phase 3 trial, since the p2b patients will immediately be moved forward to the phase 3 component of the trial) will give the drug more ways to prove its efficacy and possibly allow for the inclusion of more advanced cirrhotic patients if the results are promising in that regard
obviously all the stuff about Back Bay and Uihlein and the science still apply
it's hard for me to find the energy to try to convince memers in this thread it's a good buy, and I'm really not concerned if they don't
I personally am patient and willing to wait until things are seen through

If you don't understand how market cap in relation to trading.. I suggest you look into it... In order for LCI to 100% right now they only need 340million to flow into it.. in order for MO to 100% they need 94billion... thats a big difference.. it'll take some time to "accumulate"... this is one of the reasons why small caps are more volatile........... You can see that for example, the people who bought BURL also own BMY and other Cramer stocks.

You can also see that the people who bought shitty stocks because they’re only a few dollars each did the same thing over and over, buying the same shitty companies. They buy Ford, Macy’s, Party City, Tupperware... oh and they buy GameStop and tailored brands because they’re cheap, and Michael burry said they can’t go any lower!

It has to be something outsiders can’t have any way of knowing that would make a material difference in your decision to buy or sell a stock.

If you know your company’s earnings are through the roof, they’ve been implementing cost saving measure that worked or comps are soaring or they’re about to unveil the new SUPER Nintendo and it’s incredible, then you can’t really trade it right before that information is revealed to the public.

For those of you interested in BYND:

If there is a gap up open to "fill" the gap from earnings a couple months back, you're safe to buy puts or short it back down to $90. I'd keep a tight stop and reverse the position once the target is reached. BYND going back to at least $160 in short order (months).

FWIW, I think there is a significant chance the rising wedge on AMZN is bearish and will send the stock back down to the top of the triangle, tagging 1800-1820, simply to fill the tiny gap on the monthly chart, allow for a little more accumulation, and really springboard the stock into earnings, without getting too near ATH.

I want a breakout, but I'm inclined to expect a dump. AMZN hasn't been playing nicely for awhile now, so don't hit the calls without a hedge on this trade. If the move is today, Friday puts are cheeeeeeap.

you shouldn't try and use if for low cap speculative stocks, like biopharma, which is what that poster was showing...

It works better for larger-cap stocks whose value is based on their current earnings streams and balance sheets. For that, it's actually pretty good for quick glance comparisons. Easy mode just go into your broker's platform and look for options then calls. Buy the call that expires around 3 months from today with a strike price closest to whatever the current price of the stock is (this is referred to as at the money or ATM). Then wait for the price of the option to go up (in this environment of fed free money bonanza it will) then sell when you are comfortably in profit. Wash rinse repeat

No problem man. You're going to find a ton of shit online about options, how they work, different theories of how they should be traded, stuff about "the greeks" and so on but remember this. Options fundamentally are just a way to get leverage. Think of it mostly like margin with just a few key differences. Firstly, you cannot get margin called since you aren't actually borrowing any money. So it's like trading on margin when it comes to realizing gains but there is no risk of the price just dumping and you losing everything in one shot. The other difference and the downside is there is a time limit for the trade to work out. There are ways of managing a trade if it goes against you, e.g., you can roll the call to a different strike price or a different date or both and this allows you to salvage a situation that otherwise goes south. The upshot in its simplest form is with options is you get great leverage with no margin calls and only the time limit to deal with. That is 90% of everything you need to know other than just studying the numbers themselves and deducing how a trade would go depending on where the price of the underlying ends up.

Hard to say. Job numbers are about to be released but we just had a tiny little dump which may be a harbinger of what's to come when those numbers hit the wire. Maybe somebody had some advance warning that they're going to be bad. I'd suggest caution in the next 15-30 minutes. Depends on what you mean with "lie".
German statistics arent wrong in the sense that the numbers are manufactured.
But the formulas and statistical rules are made to skew the numbers to look more positive.

For example people who dont have a job and are forced to go to some random education program to keep getting jobless money, are not listed in the jobless statistics. Nobody is lying about this, but still this definition is very obviously artificially making the statistics look nicer.

It only looks bad relative to the expectation of 160k. You bitch about the estimate but what about the expectation? Where did that come from? Do you think that wasn't just made up? If the expecters had pulled 140 out of their ass instead of 160, you'd be singing a different tune. lol what a maroon.

Told you guys to get on BYND last week and even had several arguments with some anons saying that BYND was going nowhere. BYND has partnership with almost every fast food you can name and they are about to hit it with MCdonalds too. That company will keep growing exponentially for at least 1 more year.
