Where are my fellow Linkpool marines at?
Here is one thing that I really don't understand, maybe one of you fine people can explain this.
Linkpool shares are an asset that produce Link as a sort of dividend payment. So when the Link token goes up in price, you'd expect something that produces Link to also go up in price, right?

However everytime Link moves up against ETH it results in sell pressure on the LP/ETH trading pair. Its clear that this can't and won't continue in the long run.
Just imagine Link and ETH having the same USD price, at some point along the way the LP share price in ETH would also go up.
For the time being we have to endure the paradoxical behaviour of the DEX participants

This is going to be retarded but linkpool shares be stored on an eth wallet?

What exactly is linkpool?

Pretty wild how no one comments on how Linkpool was the best performing cryptocurrency in 2018.
When staking commences, this shits gonna take off

Yes, you store them in an ETH wallet just like an ERC20 token.
LP are basically a token, but on the ERC20 standard, because that would have limited some of their utility. For more technical details you can ask in the telegram.

Ok, lets write down the bigger picture of what Linkpool is:
At some point in the future (when Sergey gets his shit together) everyone can run a node in the Chainlink network and get rewarded for providing data to smart contracts.
The nodes that providde bad data (bad=goes against consenus) will get punished and lose some of their collateral Link that the node holds. We don't have that yet, nodes currently run without collateral.
In the future every Chainlink holder will have to decide if they want to
A) Run their own node, which is hard, as you need to get APIs that the market requests, run an CL+ETH node and also make sure you have 100% uptime. Most people are not able to do this.
B) Just keep holding Chainlink and essentially miss out on the network rewards.
C) Join a staking pool, where you add to someone's collateral in a trustless way to get part of their rewards.

Linkpool is option C) and I think most Chainlink holders will choose that option over the other two.

You can use ur ledger. Check out the telegram, they’ll tell u how to do it there.

There are 4K Linkpool shares. All linkpool revenue goes through a smart contract. Owing one linkpool share gets you 1/4000 of Linkpool revenue. Link pool is the leading node operator in the ecosystem and it’s founder Johnny Huxtable is also on the team.
If Chainlink becomes a public good as Sergey wants it to be, Linkpool will provide comfy dividends for lyfe

Sold out of my LP position a while ago. I think it's still overvalued desu. There's much better places to allocate capital, including the native LINK token.

>> No.16797719

>>16797693
Fucking this. I plan on just staking my link on LP and only sell the proceeds from that, never touching the base funds. Thoughts?

>> No.16797731

>>16797550
Yeah, linkpool shares are stored on an eth wallet. Linkpool is a staking service so people don't have to setup their own nodes. They can just put their link on linkpool and earn more link once staking is implemented by the chainlink team. No effort required. Linkpool shares entitle you to a portion of the fees linkpool collects and priority in staking.

>>16797649
I thought linkpool shares would sell out fast during the sale. I bought as much as I could, as fast as I could. But then they didn't even end up selling all of them. Surprised me when I checked the price and it was sky high.

>Bitcoin is overvalued, I can buy thousands of XRP for the price of one BTC

You realize that there are 4000 LP shares compared to 1 billion Link token?
Chainlink's total market cap is $2.2 billion, Linkpool is $16 million, so about 0.7% of Link.
If that is too high, what is a fair valuation for the first, largest and most trusted staking pool?

>> No.16798234

>>16797849
Nevertheless, he is correct. Paying 40 ETH per LP for a yearly dividend of 10 LINK is roughly 0.4% yield. In that case it is overvalued, because current yields cannot rationalize the price. Future yields are already priced in. Not saying it doesn't have an upside, but it still is what it is

When you really think about it Chainlink will have built in inflation because most people are planning this same shit. Basically all staking gains will immediately be put on the market and forcing the price downwards.

Retard. Chainlink staking isn't even out yet so how can staking pools be out much less be "first, largest and most trusted". Think before you type, retard.

Tbh I have mixed feelings right now, I'm a LP ICO buyer, so I am well positioned. My earnings in LINK thanks to LP are equivalent to 12% of what I invested in ETH in the ico in 17 months, so I am satisfied. I could x40 my ETH gains right now by selling, but I'm not selling before staking goes live.

The expectations are that ROI to increase along with further aggregators and heartbeats, which will turn my ROI into ~15%.

Once said that, I feel if I were a newcomer to Linkpool, I wouldn't allocate more than 10% of my portfolio in LP. Just the necessary to stake at least half my stack after a year (10k LINK per LP)

This is a linkpool shill thread. This faggots rather hold onto a peice of shit then let it drop to what its worth. Its some reall boomer shit.

Also there are about 3 other steaking pools working on staking link with a better % return.

I disagree with this. If we are at the point where node operators are staking large sums of money in order to run high-value contracts, we won’t just be the talk of the DLT sphere, we will be the talk of all of fucking Wall Street. And at that point, when Wall Street starts talking about it, then LINK becomes a “safe” and “blue-chip” cryptocurrency. That’s when we unironically all become filthy rich.
The semi-frustrating part of being a LINK holder is that there is no gradual appreciation in price based on fundamentals. Right now it is not clear whether or not Chainlink will happen; however, if Chainlink does eventually happen, it will be blatantly clear and the price will become beyond parabolic.
What everyone said about BTC & ETH with “muh institutional money” is going to be unironically true with Chainlink bc LINK is the only language they think in. It is going to become crystal fucking clear to all the Wall Street big shots what’s going to happen to the Derivatives market if Chainlink is able to get off the ground.
So no, if we are at the point where people are seeing real gains from staking, not just a big pump from staking being released, we will have already won
(^everything above has already been said here and I’m assuming that Chainlink wasn’t engendered from Wall Street itself)
