I think that this system of farming is going to take over.
Local organic food is always in demand and will become more so before the great last war.

check this fucking system out, the water cleans itself with the beneficial bacteria, crystal clear.

It's a scam to trick retards who don't understand agronomy. You can make money in certain contexts (high value produce in urban centers), but where land isn't scare you're not going to beat the cost of production from high volume on superior yields alone.

I think ecological engineering has a much brighter future than meme shit like this that costs 50k to produce tomatoes.

in the OP video he says that to harvest all these plants and pack them for vans... its a 2 man job.
its soilless and you just wrap the root around the stalk which gives it a 3 week fridge life.

I think you should really look into it so when you make a bunch of crypto gains... you can at least build your own little version of so you can grow citrus and warmer climate fruit.

FUCK I WANT 10 MILLION DOLLARS SO I CAN BUILD A SHIT LOAD OF THESE FARMS

Electric costs to run the pumps plus water treatment chemicals may make this expensive but still its a good system and can produce with ease. Stock with particular fish if inland. Also try and produce to fill needs in the market. Ethnic veggies for example not available readily at the supermarket. Ask your indian/asian/spic what they use and what they find hard to get/ expensive. Also fuck the daughters

yeah sick of zoomers shitting up this board with poorly thought out idea

run the economics of this shit. there's a reason agribusiness doesn't use it. For what you spend on Capex to build one of these systems (which don't scale), you could get 50x the yield from just buying or renting farmland.

you should learn more about the system of fish poo being eaten by bacteria in rock beds with worms.

I live near the Jersey shore and I think a nice market exists for this.

I was wondering what something like this might cost.

>> No.16750401

Yes.

Solar minimum is coming.

I'm trying to think of a way of having a local marketplace that's not online.

I.e. Joe advertises he has spare carrots, Sam says he has pumpkins

I was thinking either radio networking or open wi-wfi.

Yes the fish produce waste but You have to balance the PH along with the nitrate and its various forms as well. Testing and management chemicals can help but generally the larger the system the more stable it will be provided you don't overstock the fish.

Why don't you just start a normiebook page for locals to advertise. Specify rules that encourage trade rather than purchase using fiat.

once that balance occurs, as long as the water doesnt grow algae from light exposure... the system keeps clean and disease free
its not an annual cost to be worried about

I would like to know how much those tanks cost

It doesn't work, it's too much hassle and the nutrients are always in flux. It only has value as an additional closed system. Farming is already hard enough without worrying about fish too

is it possible to combine that with aeroponics though? my understanding is that aeroponics uses dramatically less water. couldn’t you mix fish shit and water and use that as a reservoir for aeroponics?

I'm literally working at a hydroponic farm that gave up on aquaponics because of its difficulties. You need a huge scale version to make it work. Just imagine what happens when the fish get ill

Let me just forewarn you that farmers and their helpers are some of the dumbest people on the planet. I’ve had farmers burn down huts cuz they were too dumb and left a fire burning. And it’s not just shitistan. Look at those mj company that got caught illegally growing. Hexo and canntrust. Stupid af.
