Hard to say mate. There are your standard dividend paying ETFs, you have bearish/bullish leveraged ETFs, and covered called ETFs. There is quite literally an ETF for everything. Luckily, I just ate some organic, healthy, vegetable derived, vegan approved, deliciously tasty and amazing Heinz ketchup to fuel my brain. I truly recommend NYSE:KHC Heinz ketchup daily, to get a grasp and fully understand options.

Vega tells you how much your option price changes by each percent (1%), implied volatility changes. So, it measures the impact of a change in volatility.

Delta tells you how much your option price changes by each dollar ($1), the underlying asset changes. So, it measures the impact of a change in the price of underlying.

These are just 2 of the 4 major Greek risk measurements for options. Using all 4 will allow the best risk assessment on options.

Most importantly out of all of this though, take a spoonful of NYSE:KHC Heinz ketchup before ever assessing or purchasing options to have an optimum thought process and clearest head. Remember to always keep 2 bottles in your fridge, to have one on hand at all times as well. When you only have one bottle of NYSE:KHC Heinz ketchup in your fridge, it’s time to buy another one and you will become a successful option trader. Best of luck to you, Anon.

I can almost say with certainty that we won't. After last friday's call to general panic (I've even got normie friends calling me about the "inminent ww3") the dip was laughable, specially after thursday's bull run. I was hoping for a dip and still have some cash on hand, seems it's not going to happen, so I'm waiting for a decent entry point. Latest meme I've been eyeing is ENPH, seems to be on a tremendous uptrend and was about to buy, but saw it getting shilled on yahoo finanace by the very same people who said we should all be shorting the sp500 during 2019 and thought better of it. Still on my watchlist though.

we've had at least two people here in 2019 who quit their job a week after making a Robinhood account and making little 5% gains (hehe). Then they usually disappear..
There are some posters here who just do stocks with no jobbo for real, meaning sustainably for more than a year. Usually in that case they had some big money from inheritance or something else, they aren't just starting in their 20's with $100.

So there are plenty of people who quit their jobs from stock or crypto; the question is if they can keep it going sustainably. The answer is "no" 90% of the time. Better to keep your job until your safe investment returns are at least 2x your expenditures.

In the meantime, you should have fun going on the internet and reading about peoples' mishaps with equity and currency markets. Truly, reading disaster comments about people losing all their money doing dumb shit on /biz/ or reddit or wherever is worth more than any monetary stock market gains. Usually the best part of these stories is when the person makes some small early win, thinks that they "cracked the code" to making big gains forever, quits their job, and then loses all their money and goes into debt. Sometimes they drag their families and friends down with them. It's one of the truly beautiful things in the internet age that you can go and read real stories about this from the comfort of your own yacht or private jet on a little handheld device.

may... earnings beat.. but shorts hammered it and manipulated it down like they always do after good news... july they got Levothyroxine back which is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs in the u.s... which by the way.. the reason why LCI is shorted this much is because they lost Levothyroxine in the first place which was the whole fucking short arguement in the first place lol... in late august they beat earnings..again.. at end of september they issued conv. notes due in 2026 which took care of most of term loan a debt which was part of shorts arguement.. they thought thats since Levo was gone they would have a hard time paying their debt which LCI restructured.. shorts took that as an opportunity to short it.. again.... November they had a pretty flat earnings which was expected.. but again.. shorts used that chance to manipulate it down.... early december they announce positive insulin trials on humans.. and then they also announced marketing for adderall.... again.. shorts will short ANY good news just to prevent price action.. they are stuck.. they are manipulating it down.. there is a huge correction to the upside coming.. LCI will become a lean mean drug selling machine real fucking soon.. huge upside potential.

Not sure why bears are always trying to "convince" people to sell.. like it's always the "convincing act" "b-but anon what if.. what if... blah blah blah.. surely you could sell now instead of hold?!? r-r-right??" Sure..but it could take off any day due to it already being undervalued and shorts trapped with a huge position for basically no reason now... it's moving sideways becuase theres a huge battle between bulls and bears.. if you check fintel.io there is actually 100% ownership by institutions right now... look at the drops on the chart you posted.. barely any volume on them.. why?? because it's being manipulated to shit.. if you watch the Level 2 during the day you'll see it...

I just started in december with $8k and I'm gonna give you guys my Neet Progress Report every month. My current baggies are CORV, NLNK and ROKU with a combined negative of $540. I lost a further $100 panic selling in crypto in my first week, I'm not touching that stuff anymore but I will thank it for leading me to this board and this general.

oh yeah.. and LCI is not a biotech company.. they already have a shit load of products and are gaining more... if you'd just check their site instead of just the chart.... they have their own products and they distribute products for others.. which I like that side of their business better because it means they don't need to put so much into research and development.. instead they can focus more on selling drugs for themselfs and for others.

thanks for the info, the manipulation if true is a bit worrisome, if it's being pushed down even on good news what is going to create an actual short squeeze? also sorry i generally just refer to all drug-related companies as "biotechs", my bad. i like to diversify my "high risk high reward" part of my portfolio by taking small positions across a number of these cheaper ones that have potential, typically around 1-year (or better) lows so im derisked as much as possible and can wait for longer periods of time to see if any of them have a major pop, which ideally should more than make up for the ones that fail.

i just see this manipulation stuff a lot with the cheap stocks but they also have a lot of upside potential, i might consider taking a half position at $8 with the option to take the other half around $5-6 area if it forms support there, idk yet.

what are the upcoming catalysts/what do you think is going to be the event that actually makes them moon?

also the short float is nearly 50% that's crazy. i kinda feel like now if anything i'd wait for a breakout to the upside. one good gap up and all of those shorts are likely going to have to cover like crazy, thus bidding the price up on a gap up day. love playing big short float stocks (or low short float and a gap down), another quality high prob setup.

Do some research, there's a very good chance that the 737max will NEVER fly again. They cut corners leading to structural design flaws that they tried to paper over with computer-driven systems written by cheap outsourced pajeets. They should have invested into building the new model from the ground up, but instead they rushed the Max out to compete with Airbus, and now it's very likely to be unfixable by any navigation computer system changes.

this, in a nutshell, is why trader psychology is probably the most important thing in this business. people held on to bitcoin because of that kind of thinking, and kept holding all the way through the crash. emotions will cause you to lose all of your money in the end if you let them control you like this, there are so many examples out there.

you come up with a trading plan, a thesis that includes why you're taking the trade, what price you're getting in at, what your risk is, and where your target price is. then you let the trade do what it does and stay the FUCK out of the way. "lmao but what about what happens after?" should have no effect on the way you think, if you made a profit and followed your plan then great, if you lost but you followed your plan then great. get it? if you get greedy it's just going to fuck you, if you get FOMO it's just going to fuck you, the long run is all that matters. quit the "get rich quick" shit because it's just going to fuck you in the long run.

all that said... my first ever trade i did was a moon mission, and to this day i still keep tabs on it on a regular basis even though i don't play it anymore. it ultimately crashed and burned and reading all of the posts on forums of people invested in it for literally over a decade truly opened my eyes to why i'll never be a stock investor, only a trader. imagine watching a stock go 5x-10x in value, then you just fucking hold on to that shit because you're in it for the long haul, and then it crashes down back to where it started. and you wasted 10+ years and came out with break-even. imagine that shit. it terrifies me, not even the money but losing all of that time.

in short, there are opportunities in the market every day, there are over 7k stocks, fucking sell that shit, make your money, and move on to the next one. feeling bad you didn't get out at the top is fucking retarded. did you follow your trading plan or didn't you? that's all that matters.

it's literally just a numbers game, a game of probabilities. if you want to explain stock trading to someone you can literally just tell them that all you're doing is looking for high probability setups, the higher the probability of success the better the setup.

it's never going to be about one trade, it's about all of the trades. your win ratio combined with your odds (1:1, 2:1, 3:1, etc). like if you have 5:1 odds and you lose 3 and win 1, you have a 25% win rate but you're actually up 5-3=2. you have an "edge" on the market and you just keep doing it over and over and over and over again. the only reason i can imagine people still look at an old trade and feel bad it kept going up is being an emotional noob with no discipline. too many people trying to get rich quick, just end up getting poor quick, it's sad.

if you make a million dollars on one trade and then lose 1 million on the next 2, you're pretty fucked. what matters is how profitable you are after a sample size worth of trades. fuck 1 trade how were your past 100? past 1000 trades? that's what matters. consistency.

>>16746882
np. it's understandable that people are so confused about trading even though at it's core it's really quite simple. it's all just high probability setups and odds. the simplest system people usually talk about is having a 50/50 system (like flipping a coin) but having 2:1 odds. if you win twice as much money as when you lose, even if you're only right half the time (meaning you're wrong half the time), you're still profitable. that's hard for most normies to wrap their head around, they want to be right 100% of the time and don't get it.

the markets are unlike anything anyone has done in normal life for like 99.9% of people in the world. psychology and risk management are the most important parts yet they're the most ignored. no matter how good the setup, any trade can lose, and you have to be prepared for that mentally. once you get over that hump though it's easy.

Some may consider that "low" but fuck I'll take over 24k extra bucks no problem at all. Sure I'd be happy as hell if ONTX hits 4 (52 w high) or more but still, getting out with over 24k is nothing to be ashamed of either, especially when you know your entire portfolio amount you invested is about 8,300.

I bought some at $30, but I would hesitate to buy now, now that it's near $50. I mean, it might hit 60 or better, in the short term, which would be a nice 20% increase. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes higher, the stock is incredibly speculative, price/earnings ratio of 225, while Intel's is 14. Apparently this is fine for short periods for AMD, just be aware that AMD reliably seems to fall back to sub $5. My dad was sending me links suggesting to sell my AMD, pic related, and I was thinking about doing it too, then I checked AMD again today and it was up another 10% from a few days ago. If there's a recession and AMD's share price is forced to acknowledge accounting realities it could take a pounding. But if there's money flowing around, all of x86 is either Intel or AMD, and AMD have the superior product right now, which is rare for them, and they could keep mooning.

3) do some research into the fundamentals of those companies (a.k.a. you want companies that aren't shit, aren't riddled with debt, don't have shitty management, don't have shitty sentiment where everyone and their mother thinks they're literally hitler, etc)
4) buy that shit and have a respectable risk/reward setup which i'll leave it to you to go google it and figure it out

boom, easy. look at DELL and CSCO, both very clear examples of this working very recently. look where they bottom out and then look to the left and see where that level roughly matches up to.

yeah honestly you'd probably want to be looking at a reason to take it short (which doesn't yet exist but could come up). similar to the all-time lows strat i just discussed, you can do something similar with shorting 52-week or better highs, but AMD is really strong right now, i honestly wouldn't be surprised at all to see it hit 60 and i've been playing it these past 2 weeks, it's on a major uptrend. you've gotta at LEAST look for confirmation first before shorting it though, taking it short now would be incredibly aggressive but you could try shorting the top and having a relatively tight stop loss over the ATH.

>>16747446
no idea, im just talking about a technical setup, it's up to you to look into the fundamentals of the company. it's just that good stocks reaching near their lowest prices is one of the best times to buy, not just CSCO but any company that fits the pattern.

so much of this stuff is just common sense. near the lowest price a company has been at, that has been tested multiple times and bounced off of, in a company with strong fundamentals: would you bet long or short? a lot of setups are obvious and logical if you think about them. another one is going long on a stock with a huge short float that gets a good news catalyst and gaps up majorly, all of those shorts are going to have to cut their losses and cover which will bid the price up obviously. see what i mean? you want to look for stuff like that in the market, a lot of it is psychology in all honesty. that's one of the things i love about it, people are predictable, herd mentality is a thing.

I got YTEN, HUSA, RTTR, GNMX all really cheap on Friday and they all went up considerably during After-market. YTEN for example went up almost 30% and I'm pretty sure it's gonna go a bit higher on Monday morning but as always I'm selling everything off as soon as the market opens. I don't like having Penny stocks with so much volatility for longer than a day or 2 even if they keep going up after I sold them... I don't care about that kind of risk.

Also had 1,000 shares of SCON at .20 and made the mistake of selling it at .22 on Friday. Because now the stock seem to be ramping up on Volume and I'm pretty sure is gonna keep going up through the week because if they don't get their stock to $1 by Jan 16 they gonna get delisted... If they don't reach the target they probably gonna do a Reverse Split, in that case people better not hold onto to that stock too much either.

this is just the same shit as Tesla just a few months ago when the stock reversed and stockholders went into a panic selling all their shit just because some unknown Asian company was announced as a major competitor... And as ALWAYS any reaction in the market is an overreaction. I learned this from a youtuber and it is the truth... Every reaction in the market is always an overreaction.

BYND went down by like 0.3% because some competitors no one has ever even heard about before appeared and that's enough to make people lose their minds... But look into their partnerships, it's not like their contracts with Burger King, KFC and Subway are gonna be cancelled overnight, and the testing with MCdonalds is still going. So just put the stock on a Watchlist and wait... If the partnership with MC happens then buy the stock as soon as possible and wait for the imminent blow up and then when it's up and losing momentum you sell it. If the partnership never happens then don't buy. That's how you make money in this shit because dividends are just too little, too slow.

K doesn't move, there is no money to be made there... Maybe by trading some options you might make something tho.
