Do diehard BTC maximalists realize that their entire coin is limited to 1MB blocksizes which hikes up the fees making it impossible for businesses or smart money to begin adopting?
Or are they just blissfully unaware and think a fourth time bull run will occur because of a pattern?

Block size increase means processing additional transactions with additional resources cost. That is not scaling, it's just linear increase. Off chain scaling makes it go exponentially.
