Does anyone have any good sources to learn more of the math behind finance? My very basic understanding of math is actually starting to become a big problem in my research, as the concepts I grasp become more specialized I am having trouble digesting the content because I cannot understand the math well behind it. In particular I was trying to digest this article today:

Rogerlord [DOT] c[u]m [SLASH] ufrtopquants [DOT] pdf

It's not like im completely deficient, I can do many necessary functions in finance, but I don't even know what resources are available for tackling something like this. Thank you for any help you can provide, and sorry for the shitty link format it kept being marked as spam.

If picking up every level calc textbook available and going to town is what it will take to get a good grasp of what I'm being shown, then I will do it. But I cant help but think in the day and age of the internet there must be some good sources to learn and identify what is important here and what is immediately important to my research so I can continue learning about things relevant to me without taking a 2 year break to get a math degree essentially.

The mathematics of economics has a very exponential learning curve. There's a reason why top analysts and economists have PHDs in mathematics. It starts off gentle, utilizing basic algebra, and then immediately shoots off into a giant red dildo straight up your ass.

As you've surely noticed in economics, it all comes down to studying the curves of various charts, such as stock prices and liquidity, volatility, etc.
That's unfortunately an immediate tip off that to do any real analysis that doesn't involve toy linear functions, you'll need to be at least proficient with differential and integral calculus. That's for basic curves.
To go further and understand economic effects that rely, or deal with multiple factors and variables, you'll need to understand vector calculus/multivariable calculus.
Then, after that, comes modelling. Modelling is entirely differential equations, which is a big pain in the ass. This is for things such as volatility and price sensitivity, and .xX The Absolute Crowing Jewel of Economics Xx., the Black Scholes equation.

Even then, you can't apply traditional calculus methods to economic charts since they're inherently stochastic in nature. You'll need to learn about stochastic calculus and stochastic differential equations.

tl;dr "basic math" won't cut it. you're going to need to learn up to at least calculus to get a real handle on what the fuck reports like that are talking about.

Ding ding ding! How did everyone do this week? This week we're going to the Romano's at Chicago O'Hare International, and it's hopping! Lucky I called ahead and reserved us a table.
I'm down .72% today, yucky end to the week but I'm still green for it. Covvies cuddled cozy, feels good. I'm buying this dip, picked up QYLD (like a porcupine, get it?), PEPpers, cutie KO-eds, and UNGa-bunga men. Did not sell BWL/A since I see asks at 15.77, is this a good decision? Remember to market buy LUB.
Considering getting in on Swedish Match, I'm getting back into smokeless tobacco. Vaping nic salts while packing snus AND zyn feels great, spiritual, ascendant, holy.

AAPL calls (+10k)

A lot of people think the fed manipulates, blah blah, but I bet about 4k on AAPL calls that the fed WOULD pump its baby (AAPL) into the new year. I believe a recession is coming, and I believe the fed has let the inflation genie out of the bottle and is now at its will. Gold has a technical breakout and is aided with uncertainty in the fed's monetary policy, slowing economic growth, and volatility in general. Volatility and volatility of volatility has/have been setting higher lows for weeks now. Putting all this together brings an extremely optimistic picture of gold which, quite frankly, is an opportunity of a decade.

I believe inflation is coming and coming in hot. My bet is a bet on inflation, which I believe will be the feds Achilles heel at the end of all this.

I mean that would make sense if this was Microsoft or a company that you know would do great for years to come. The problem with your strategy is that LCI might keep on smashing ranges downwards and end up below your current position, so you just lost a potential profit of 100+ percent. DCA is completely valid if it has to do with a company that hasn't been in a massive fucking downtrend for years and haven't even been EVEN CLOSE to breaking it. For example, if LCI doesn't hold this range we are in now we're looking at testing the 6-6.50 range.
Here look at this REVERSED chart of LCI. Does it look like it will go down or up? To me it looks pretty damn bullish, like it wants to test the $4-$6 range before finally retracing back to $12-$13

His trip is on for a reason, to build a reputation and plant the seed of the idea that maybe he’s right. It’ll gap down 20% and recover 5% and newfags will think he’s an authority on the shit and fomo in.

Opinions on Titan? I've bought a fair amount, seen some decent growth recently.

They haven't even made a return on the 4 billion for the franchise. They've actually lost money.

This is probably the moon mission you've been waiting for. Gamblers are going to provide the nice liquidity you need to exit with nice profits. Don't get too greedy.

Good point. People can’t grab free trails forever. Sure you can create endless fake emails, but there’s only so many credit cards you can get/have to qualify yourself for a free trail. Over time this loss could be recouped and then some from the content luring and, if good enough, locking people in for an endless subscription fee.

At .30 you cant go wrong dumping a few hundred into it if decent growth is projected. 52wk high is about 2.50 so assuming we hit that we're golden. Plus theyre biopharma so you cant go wrong, humans love their damned drugs.

If you're being serious, are you only counting box office sales?

How much do they make from the dolls shirts legos games? It's hard to figure out how much money they have and will make on the theme park attractions but that was a big cost too.

They owned the box office this year, it belonged to Disney. I'm not concerned. They will likely own streaming as well.

I think I was looking at that one the other day, looks like a nice asymptote function to zero, is that the one?

How many people do you think signed up to Netflix once and just never thought bout it again, and pay the monthly fees every month without even caring, for the past ten years or so?

>>16740153
LMT, PEP, DIS, MO, MRK, LLY, and no divvies but BRKB
If we get some nice panicking this month you could get some good buying opportunities.

Also worth noting the synergies... LLY's revenue comes largely from diabetes treatments, and MRK's is coming largely from oncology, and their drug is currently a favorite for treating small cell Lung cancer.

And then you have PEP, KO, MCD, and MO
