Heres your answer.
You CAN do it and I've known others that do something similar where (just using round numbers) take out a 20k student loan, use 10k for tuition and 10k for living expenses. You can drop out after the first week and get the tuition refund for a total 20k.
However
You're on the hook for 20k but fees and such will leave you with something like 18k (or less).
1. You have to immediately start repaying the loan, no grace periods
2. They CAN pursue you for fraud if they wanted, but they rarely do unless youre a complete fuckup motormouth.
3. You can do this just once, you're future approval goes down substantially.
4. Gambling in cryptos, stocks, weed or anything else is risky and you'll probably regret it rather quickly.
