If you’re shooting that high, get some 1oz gold right off the bat. Then when it comes to silver, it depends on the product. Not all silver bullion will be easily liquidated and a lot cannot be got without paying premiums. If you’re going for 1000+ I’d get at least one 100oz bar that has a serial stamp. Then maybe 250oz in low premium 10oz bars, again try to get serialized bars. The rest go for 1oz coins with semi numismatic value, you’re more likely to get your premiums back and liquidate easily. Check out your tax laws too. Try to keep your weight in either 1 or 10oz. Don’t go for odd sizes because people can’t do simple fucking math these days.

Wait for deals, don’t let the FOMO get you, I don’t think we’re at that point of panic yet. The price of gold will be the indicator. The Fed, and other central banks, are holding down interest rates at an artificially low rate. Market forces are putting more and more upward pressure on these rates so central banks are having to print more and more to keep them down, but more printing means more debt which means more upward pressure on interest rates. Look at what is happening in the Repo market, this market represents the extremely short end of the yield curve, the Fed is fighting to keep that rate down. They've been saying this intervention in the repo market is just short term but have extended and expanded their repo market intervention program multiple times since it started in September. It will only get worse until the Fed is ultimately impotent with their intervention. When interest rates ultimately correct to their equilibrium price governments will not be able to afford to service their debt. There are problems in private debt sectors as well. For instance:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-06/subprime-auto-lender-checked-income-on-just-3-of-loans-in-bond

It's quite simply supply and demand, with interest rates kept artificially low (price of borrowing is low), there has been much more debt created than usual (low price means high demand). With rates kept so low for so long it was bound to create systemic problems.

>>16711777
Look at what central banks are buying, precious metals, they know what is coming. When there is a lack of confidence in the system (market crisis/panic) there will be a rush to safe havens like gold and silver. As long as you can afford to service your debt you will be fine. Are your loans variable rate? Probably not.

The main problem is the corporate bond market. The ratings agencies are asleep at the wheel again and dozens of big names are currently rated BBB, the lowest rung of """investment grade""". When really they should have been downgraded to junk bond status a long time ago based purely on their leverage ratios.

It's a big fucking deal when a big name goes from IG to junk because pension funds and other firms are contractually forced to sell those bonds because they can only have investment grade in their portfolio. The reality is that SO many companies are on the knife's edge right now that the ratings agencies know that if they started rating honestly it would trigger the collapse of the bond market.

Meanwhile these funds are forced to "reach for yield" because they are severely underfunded. So they take out credit default swaps (yes the same instruments that caused the collapse of AIG and others during the GFC) so that a separate entity assumes the risk of the junk bonds, and the pension fund can make it legally look like they are only investing in A-grade assets. But the entity assuming the risk (like HSBC or Deutsche for example) does not legally have to retain any level of reserves equal to the notional value of the underlying bonds. So if too many counterparties default, the big banks providing insurance default as well.

It all comes down to interest rates. If those go up, companies will be forced to rollover their short-term bonds at a higher interest rate. At the same time the value of their bonds go down because the bond value is inversely proportional to the interest rate. So corporations deeply in debt (which is pretty much most of the big ones nowadays) will be left completely insolvent without more government bailouts, just like they bailed out General Motors last time.

First of all we're at 3% inflation yoy, (That's not even getting into the fact that the method for measuring inflation has been perverted to inflate the GDP numbers so inflation is likely much higher) in the 70s we had price controls at 4%. Inflation is going higher and the Fed won't be able to stop it. The Fed has stated that they won't even start THINKING about raising interest rates until inflation is over 4% for a sustained period of time. They won't need ubi for inflation to go up, it's going up regardless. When the time comes to raise interest rates they won't be able to without popping all these bubbles they have created.

silver did not do well in the recession. It is used for industrial and tech purposes. Therefore demand dropped as did its price. Gold is the go to and always will be. Never mind the "ratio" these ppl blabber on about GOLD is what you want to hold. buy in 1/4 or full ounce weights. The premium you are paying for silver is ridiculous at this point. Expect silver to touch 20$ USD at some point in this year; it has some catching up to do. Stocks will still go strong under Trump but when the election get closer expect the market to take a correction as the dems know the market and equities are Trumps go to indicators for the state of US of A.

Buy 10 oz bars of silver and 1/4 or one ounce bars of gold. Do not under any circumstance buy any bullshit themed or series nonsense from any mint. You will never get that premium back. Do not buy any weird fucking silver that is in the shape of some bullshit or is hand poured unless its Scottsdale Mint. Gold will likely touch 2k USD this year. This was completely intentional. It’s to deter the goys from getting the gold. It was amazing how the laws kicked in on October 1st, right before the holiday season, when gold was already quite a bit cheaper than it is now, just three months later. I was in the middle of placing all kinds of orders right as it happened, couldn’t believe my eyes but knew instantly why it did.

Blue or redpill me on precious metals. I have done 0 research and base my opinion on what i've heard on other people who probably have done 0 research.

I've heard the price is very... stable. You won't get like 10% return every month or anything like that by investing in stocks or just a savings account. However, I do admit that precious metals will most likely still be precious if let's say dollar or euro suddenly loses it's value. So is there a reason to buy precious metals to get richer? And what are you even buying? Are you like buying physical metal or are you buying like stocks or what is it even?

There should be guidelines or copypasta in OP if this is a general.

My mom is a fucking jew and I absolutely loath talking about money with her. I also pay my fair share through fiat, equity, labor and pain and suffering. I even got them into silver over a decade ago when silver was $12 an ounce, which they have yet to thank me for, but I'll let it slide. Stupidly sold my small stack before the $40 high, but I didn't have much money back then anyway. Should have held, won't make that mistake twice, going hard this time.

Stocks/ETFs/storage are scams if you don't hold you don't own. I would suggest buying silver at the moment since, its suppressed price could out preform gold, its normal ratio until the federal reserve was 1 oz gold /16 oz silver and right now its at 1/81.
