there was a podcast a while back (early/mid 2019) with rune (founder of MakerDAO) and he mentioned they would be using chainlink among other oracles, the recent Maker blogpost about switching to multicollateral DAI had a section about oracles but made no explicit mention of chainlink, i think it basically said they want the oracles to be decentralized and specifications of how the oracles would be implemented would be decided by MKR holders
