it's a fact that Ocaliva (ICPT's drug) is dangerous
increased occurrence of complications related hepatic decompensation, risk of gallstone formation, possible cancer risk in long term use through chronic FGF19 elevation
their drug killed 19 PBC patients with late stage cirrhosis at a dose close to the 25mg dose they're using for NASH, it's not a drug for F4 patients or beyond
that pump came from the NDA acceptance
depending on what the adcom says, those gains could be gone in an instant, and I think that given the drug's safety profile, the risk of at least one CRL is significant
the sole reason ICPT gets attention is because they COULD be first to market in NASH
their drug is nothing special compared to competitors that are a few years behind them
the only advantage they have is time
if you want to be a swing trader, you can be a swing trader
i'm focused on the long term

Slow cooker tip!!!: put chicken breasts or thighs in slow cooker, put a package of uncooked mild italian sausage also in cooker. Add diced onions and garlic. Add pepper but skip the salt (the sausage has plenty). Cook on high for four hours, pull apart and mix chicken and sausage together at 3 hour mark. Use this meat alliance for stirfries and noodles and potatoes and sammiches and what have you. It is absolutely delicious.

Stocks move down on nothing but "fake news" all the time. Hell AMRN has done nothing wrong. The earning reports have all said the same thing: Sales & Profit is climbing. Which is really all you need to know. If Profit was slipping well, then the company may be in trouble, short term, long term ,depending on how bad the slippage was. People said "oh AMRN will be screwed during the Adcom" Well the results spoke loud and clear. AMRN won. Then people said "the FDA will fuck them over in dec" Again AMRN won. So now AMRN is the winner and the market is trying hard to keep the price down. Why? Cause a lot of people bet AMRN would get the shaft by the FDA. Big money kinda stayed away before the winner was declared. This is a way for Big Money to get in on the ground floor before AMRN takes flight. It also makes AMRN look better to Big Pharma in buyout terms. 8 Billion market cap may be to big to swallow. A 7.5 Billion one however may go down easier.

But how is that a bad argument when the other argument is one without proof?? Let me paint the picture for you here..
1. You have democrats which are famously FURIOUS at Trump, have been talking about impeaching his ass for years and has been extremely biased throughout this time against everything he has done on-top of that because they hate him so very, very... very much.
2. You have a sitting, democratically elected president that this whole thing is about.. that publicly said for all to see: "Nah, nothing happened".
Do you understand? You have one person that might be lying but have PUBLICALLY made a statement about the actual event that happened in his country where he is president VS the domestic political opponents in the US that hates Trump. Who are you going to trust? Both might be lying, but the person that it's all about said that nothing happened.. while the other side (democrats) claims it did happen but doesn't have any proof of it happening, well except words from their pals.. one Obama appointed ambassador and one anonymous person that has magically vanished.

>call me leddit because you think my political views are different from yours
No I said that because that's literally all I get from people on the left when they don't have any sort of response to what I wrote and they usually reside on leddit so.. you know, 1+1=2.

There is a failure to communicate here

Impeachment as it means legally is strictly the house pressing charges and ONLY requires the house. Legally impeachment can do nothing without the senate voting to remove from office.

Now colloqually when twitter and blue hairs a like where screeming impeach drumpf they were demanding his removal from office which not legally what impeachment is but "remove x from office" is alot less flashy the "impeach x"

The former has already happened Trump is impeached as was Clinton. The later has a snowballs chance in hell at happening Trump will stay in off8ce and the senate will shrug it away as was Clinton.

>fully impeached
That’s one way to say it but it’s not really the proper use. It’s just legal jargon.
What you’re calling “fully impeached” is generally called conviction or removal.
>Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body levels charges against a government official. Impeachment does not in itself remove the official definitively from office; it is similar to an indictment in criminal law, and thus it is essentially the statement of charges against the official.
He’s been charged, and now he’ll face a trial. That’s the impeachment process. The senate votes on whether or not to convict him on the impeachment charges.

Some anons here appear to misunderstand how presidential impeachment works. I suggest reading the following articles if you want to know how it has gone in the past. Note that for a president to be removed from office, he must be convicted by the senate. Congress passing articles doesn't mean shit:

Indeed. I wasn't expecting this to eventually happen (without any true consequences of course). I should have waited for this and buy the very probable dip in a few stonks.

BUT fun fact: if this doesn't even affect the current bull run, it means everything is completely (if you still had any doubts) out of control and QE is so massive that will overpower any form of bearish tendencies due to fear. Just a fact to have in mind and profit from this while it lasts.

I think the minimal expected impact on the markets from congress' impeachment articles has more to do with the republican majority senate and perceived weakness in the Ukraine quid pro quo case the dems have decided to hang it on.

QE, or I suppose I should use the media's preferred """"not QE"""", may very well be an issue. The fed needs to get this repo business under control if that's even possible at this point. Nevertheless, that can is being kicked down the road and the market appears satisfied to continue with business as usual until something changes for the imminent worse.

I expect red tomorrow but nothing dramatic. Less than 1% by close. Probably still closer to flat.

First look at charts. TSLA is at all-time-highs. AMD is similar.

It doesn't mean you can't buy it though, just be aware. Also Tesla has a lot of volatility traditionally, no one knows the future though.

There is no way to properly time the market. It's heavily random and unpredictable to be the best of people.

It also depends how much money you have, what are your goals, etc.

A good tip is that the theoretical best move in the market are covered calls. Meaning buying 100 shares of a company+ and selling calls above that point. This lets you be the "house" in the casino.

The other thing is to understand Risk Adjusted Returns. Taking a high risk and getting a high return does not necessarily mean you are a good trader.

Anyone wanna give me some of their hot sticky wisdom on buying stocks/trading?

14 weeks ago, knowing absolutely nothing about finance or markets, I dedicated a modest £2750 ($3600) to stocks and so far I've made around £220 ($290) by dipping in and out of positions, trying to learn along the way. Currently my only open position is around $700 dollars in MO.

So that's my life story. Where should I go from here? Is it worth trying to continue swing trading? Should I trade with more money? Should I switch to a broker that allows me to short stock? Should I forget about trading and just go full boomer with an ETF?

I just want money like everyone else, help me /smg/

And I continue to see the progress that we are making in that particular segment and we are going to have that in the coming quarters and in 2020. The other thing that I want to let you all know that as I said that we have stabilized the company. Once we get our factory metal systems completely qualified and start shipping in end of the Q1 our customers are just waiting for our solutions. I do believe that also will help us for growth in 2020. So materials healthcare and then software. Right now we are seeing fundamentally some issues especially on the Cimatron. But I do believe that in 2020 with our new platforms and the solution focus that we have on software and the sales focus we are having on software and healthcare will also enable us growth in 2020.

you just don't understand history then
The stock market is a place that was once completely unregulated
regulations have been added over time, because if you don't have them, clever men will ABUSE the shit out of dumb twinks and scam away all of their money. If you have too few restrictions and scammers run everything, it hurts the genuine parts of the stock market. It also hurts the "people" who get scammed, if you care about that (if you are in these threads, you are probably one of the people who would be getting hardscammed if there were fewer restrictions, instead of softscammed on things like biopharma)

If you want a market with less regulations to go get harscammed in, get into crypto.

It's a 3 year in CEO and 2020 is going to be the year he makes or break. Also I'm aiming for a target they hit last year, not the bubble price. Welcome Todd. Quick for you VJ. Can you just dive a little bit more into this metal factory comment you made? And I'm curious to know too is this related at all to the metal material handling problem that we had earlier in the year? Are these...

Vyomesh I. Joshi -- President and Chief Executive Officer

Yes exactly the same things. So Troy you see what we wanted to make sure that a part of management unit that we are planning to ship with over 350 we look at the reliability and make sure that we don't have any issues. And that's why we paused and we are making incredible progress. We know the root cause. And it's a tough problem because when you are moving that metal powder the electrostatic forces and lot of things that we need to really pay attention to so it doesn't clamp up. And I think we are finding a very good solution to that. We are testing it thoroughly. And I would rather wait than ship a product having a quality issue. That has been a fundamental thing that as you know for the last three years I've been focusing on. Quality reliabilities of a job. Number one. We want to make sure. And so yes it's taking a few months but I absolutely believe that we are going to have an incredible solution. And if you look at the marketplace there are not that many companies -- actually there are no company which can really provide this kind of an automatic powder management unit for the metal printer. So this will be a unique value proposition but we want to do it right. And we are very excited that we have a solution that we will be able to ship in end of Q1

I mean looking at their financial statements, their revenues have been flatlined for years now. They aren't increasing, they're just stuck right in the same place that they've been since 2016, losing the same amount of money per year.

You can't build hype with financials like that!
Hype is something that happens when a company is brand new and no one knows how much money they will make, or if their revenues will grow massively. Stagnant revenues and no profits = zero hype.

Anyone coming around to invest real money is going to look, say "wow this company knows very well how to lose a predictable amount of money each year" and buy stock in profitable companies.
The only people buying in to "hype" on 3d printing now are only going to do it if a revolutionary new product comes along. So that's sort of what you're betting on.

Otherwise, this company needs to fire about half of their employees just to staunch the bleeding. If they were going to cut costs or come out with products to increase sales, they've had the last 4 years to do that, and they haven't done it! you can invest in DDD if you want.
I'm just trying to let you know: at the end of the day, financials are what counts. "cool technology" and "hype" can only put money on the table if you time it right, if the company isn't actually profitable.
you came in here and made a bunch of posts about the company and the sector that didn't mention the fact that they lose money, and that they don't seem to have a road to profitability. That's a red flag.
There are a lot of other stocks that you can invest in that make money. You don't have to dumpster dive. But if you are going to dumpster dive, what you want to look for are companies that have the chance to make positive earnings, or increase already positive earnings.
If a company has earnings that are hardstuck in the negative hundreds of millions of dollars while the CEO talks about metal powder for four years, it might not be the best buy.

I think it will still be mistimed for about 5 years. 3d printing is still in infancy and that includes industrial printers as well. in a few years half their product line will be obsolete, and you have to bet on the company being able to keep up with r&d. This is not trivial even if they are big enough. Each year a completely new method of 3d printing comes about.

The boom will come for sure, just not so soon. LCI will be 60 by then.

Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it... It sounds horrible to me.

do you think that DDD will become a $15 stock because their revenues double, or do you think that all of their earning statements for the next year will be exactly like all of their earning statements from this year, and they will become $15 per share just because people say "wow 3d printing so cool!"?

You really think it's the second one? all the dudetechnology investors will be buying TSLA and the branson space company in 2020. Those are both real potential hype vehicles because they have unpredictable earnings. DDD is very predictable: if they stay in business, I can tell you about how much money they'll be losing every month in 2020, 2021, 2022, etc. It'll be the same as the money they lost every month for the last 4 years

DDD distressed
DDD more volatile than SSYS, solid leadership
3D printing is only getting more valuable year by year
They have good news coming in 1H 2020 if things go as guidance.

Like tell me another stock in the market right now like DDD thats not in 3d printing sector. What do you want? To buy tech stocks at this valuation when you got a 9->15 in DDD?

I'm just concerned that you have no idea what you're talking about and I want to try and give you some alternative ideas.
If your mind is made up, then I'm not too concerned over it.

You will probably lose money gambling on a tech company with negative earnings without doing proper research or understanding the valuation of the stock.
But you're still better off than our average posters here, who lose a lot more money gambling on biopharma companies with no revenues.
And you might make a big play and get $20 per share, who knows

>>16606986
if you don't understand the way market regulations work and you make posts like this, it seems obvious that you are a poor zoomer. I promise you that if all the market regulations were stripped away, I would be scamming your twink ass for all of your shekels unless another man got to you first.
I'm not saying that all market regulations are perfect. But there were times with many fewer regulations and a lot of fucked up things happened. Bodies like the SEC are constantly working to fine-tune things, to have enough regulations so that things work but not too many.

The qualified investor rule and the pdt rule both fit the description of what I posted. You're the one who doesn't understand. You're also calling me a twink and referring to my ass as if that's accurate or relevant to anything. You're literally a gay communist who doesn't believe in personal property rights.

I'm seriously thinking about buying some more SNSS. What the fuck is wrong with me? I *feel* there is either a solid opportunity for a pump in January or a slow decline to nothing, but at 29c a share it feels worth the risk. Even if the pump is just a chance to exit before the slow decline.

To your point, there are also more *ahem* legal avenues to compel a decent buyout. Such as hostile turnovers, or removal dereliction of corporate duty. If CEO Fuck Face fields serious buyout offer, he has to consider it.

Likely his comments about Big Pharma either reflect lukewarm offers, or the equivalent of playing hard to get as a negotiating tactic.
