I was walking around Imagining I was a better investor than Soros. Whats worse is i have full confidence I can pull it off. Like I don't doubt myself at all. Is this really so bad? Fantasies are just fantasies yes?

I get this but with music. It’s not entirely out of the ballpark, though - fact of the matter is I’m just too lazy for it to realistically become reality.

Billionaire might be a bit of a stretch. But honestly if you seek wealth for the power that comes with it, and you're decently intelligent, you probably can get to the $100 million range where you start getting power. Your ambition and desire is good. The average lemming will treat it like a bad thing because they want to pull you down, but don't let them. What's important is that you don't just day dream about these things. You need to actually work towards your goals, study securities analysis, portfolio management, etc. If you continue these thoughts, but half-ass everything in life then you're going to be in for a lot of unnecessary mental pain.

No I mean I want to be the best. I don't want to buy things I want to be among the best investors ever. Whatever that means. I consider myself intelligent. I don't even want money to buy things but to say I did it. And thank you for the advice.

after 100million its just a dick measurement contest.
delusions of grandeur is just the name people have for people who dream too big and think they still have a shot of attaining their dreams.
That said unless youre grinding then those delusions will hit a cold hard brick of reality and you either move on or become clinically depressed

If you just want to be an amazing investor then that's perfectly healthy. You definitely should pursue this. Make sure to study all sorts of markets like stocks, options, bonds, real estate, and even cr*pto. Use internet simulators to practice trading a bit so you can learn how to trade all of them. Read business related news every day. Your remark about funding politicians is the biggest cause for concern because it lead me to believe that you weren't interested in investing at all and just wanted to flaunt wealth. If you're actually passionate about investing, and you have goals you want to achieve, then it's healthy. You're healthier than most.

Seems like you might just have a lot of constructive vigor. You should poke around in different hobbies, chances are one of them will be heuristic and you’ll get hooked on that. Of course money is still a good thing however.

Tomorrow, when you read this, heed my words. You need a career plan. It doesn't need to be set in stone or anything. In fact, it probably shouldn't. You should have contingencies in mind. You need to think about what, if any, degree you'll get from college. You need to estimate how long you want to work in certain positions. You need to plan for the very long term. You'll need good personal finance too, so you can save tens of thousands every year. Good luck, and God be with you.

>I get this but with music
You have to believe in yourself first, even if it's crazy to do so. Being humble gets you no where. In the music game, publicity and marketing *can* be everything (doesn't have to be, but it can be). When it comes to the arts, you have to just keep doing it for as long as possible
It's different from finance, where you're not trying to appeal to people; you either make money or you don't
