Really? It gets incrementally harder for BTC pass each $1000 increase in it's price. Getting to $20k will be 2x as harder than getting to $19k. Getting to $21k will be 4x as hard as going from $19k to $20k. Going to $22k will be 8x as hard as it was to go from $21k to $22k. Etc..... so how hard would it be to get to $100k following this incremental increase?

There are so many factors to Bitcoin gaining in price, but one of the main factors is sentiment. People need to have some reason to believe Bitcoin isn't worthless code.

I think a lot of alt-coins are proving that there's more to cryptocurrency than BTC, and therefore it might take a long time before the next bullrun unless some alt-coin can really prove worthy.

In my opinion BTC will stagnate for a long while until some new factor can give the proletariat a reason to see it as worthwhile again. Could be any reason.

The ICO craze started the bull run. Bitcoin rode the wave by being the only trading pair and using its name brand. Everyone can tell you bitcoin is a scam, but nobody can tell you what ethereum is. Bitcoin just had name recognition and a trading pair advantage. It's still just as shit as it ever was.
