Why Options Suck 101:

I could of made good money today on market price of calls but there was nobody to buy them. So now I’m going to either have to keep trying and hoping for a buyer or drop the price so low, spread is far apart, to the bid and pretty much lose it all just to sell. Time is not on my side with these options and I’m going to get reamed out in this. If I bought shares of the stock this would not of been an issue...

Lessons learned:

Make sure there is liquidity for the option you are looking to buy before buying.

Don’t buy OTM options on a low volume stock.

If I’m planning to flip the Option and not exercise them, then don’t buy Options if it’s a low volume stock. Buy shares instead.

So I've been casually investing for a few years now and just learning about Puts and Calls, so why would anyone market buy a stock when they can sell a Put for less than its currently trading at AND collect a premium. the only reason i can think of is they want to buy less than 100 shares

There is a chance your put never gets exercised. You collect the premium but potentially miss a good entry on the underlying. There is a whole options trading strat dedicated to doing exactly this though. Writing cash secured puts and covered calls generally on a bet that the options you sold expire worthless. Slurp up the premium, don't care much what happens to the stonk. If it's a put and you get assigned the shares, you then turn around and write a covered call on those shares. If it's a covered call and the call is exercised, you could then write a cash secured put. All in service of collecting premium on a stock that isn't really doing anything but crab. This isn't my style but I can see how it would be effective.
