If $100 is like your life savings I'd only put into either Bitcoin, or maybe one of the top 20 that's a really solid project... But if $100 is all you have for the moment, you'd be better off gambling it into some shitcoin (that's still a good project) that has a much lower marketcap so that you have better chance at a much much higher retern.
