A:
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett famously stated that "diversification is protection against ignorance. It makes little sense if you know what you are doing." In Buffet's view, studying one or two industries in great depth, learning their ins and outs, and using that knowledge to profit on those industries is more lucrative than spreading a portfolio across a broad array of sectors so that gains from certain sectors offset losses from others.

Sounds like a weak appeal to authority, to me. But you're missing the point. Warren Buffet diversifies because he's knowledgeable in what he's diversifying with. Offsetting losses is the only way to make long term gains. That's why we have indices. Without diversification, you'll have better odds gambling in a casino.

Congrats. You got lucky. There was no way you somehow knew Iran would "cooperate" with OPEC and that Russia might follow suit. The market, and other meetings pointed towards the contrary. People didn't listen because despite being correct, it was actually a retarded trade. I hope you're selling. The price will pull back and be unsustainable when shale oil plays quickly rebound. Enjoy your shekels.

Why the fuck are you people still buying it? It will be worthless in 7 days!!

>> No.1649077

>>1649030
UWTI is an index of oil stocks and high-volatility derivatives. It is NOT a company. Hence, knowing that it will delist in 7 days is not an indication of bankruptcy, collapse, bad business, etc.
Furthermore, high-volatility ETFs/ETNs like UWTI and DWTI aren't meant to be held for more than ~2-3 days at a time. Anybody holding it for more than 7 days is titanically retarded and deserves to lose their money.

For the record, UWTI/DWTI fags should look into GUSH/DRIP. It's basically the samething.
