>went to gym, heavy lifting went well
>went in to central London for my usual walk, usual podcast, usual sadness
>went in to a park and felt literally pathetic because of all the Chad and Stacey couples
>had nothing to do; can't be bothered to finally see joker or the Irishman
>now having coffee and have nothing to do; will likely binge but I had burger king last week and I don't want to give money to KFC

I'm currently worrying about how my lack of social skills will harm me at work. I really feel like I have been brainwashed at school to think that effort and actual competence matters, when success is all about social skills and fitting in and being a normie. Or is corporate culture simply what happens when midwit normies run the show?

I need to start actually writing stuff instead of merely reading books, even if it's just summarising the books I've read. Reading books on its own is so pitiful and pointless. Only discussion and debate and writing can round off an intellectual's education. I think the "reading is good (on its own)" meme is merely designed to get poor and dumb kids to read. But time spent not reading is spent feeling guilty about a lack of reading. Everything turns in to work.

I'm thinking back to the sunny weekends previously this summer and my life now is such a pale shadow. Even though I was unhappy then as well.
