depending on how big your stack is, that's a lot of money

not all of us here have a portfolio of $100 in RSR, Vidt and Link waiting for 1000x. fuck off you dumb nigger

I believe the team doesn't want family members told about BAT to get burned by a post Thanksgiving BTC pump and bleed. BAT will jump when the time is right. Hoping for something big like a Superbowl ad.

>> No.16412710

Let's face it. There is obviously some disagreement happening in the team and a founding member is dumping all his tokens. Imo we will have some FUD in the next month or two or some nigga leaving the team

One of the necessary ingredients for BAT to succeed is to have success stories.
We need the "I made $100 a day just looking at ads in 2019" stories to propogate. We need the normie mouth breathers to accept it and content creators to thrive.
The same people that didn't notice youtube or twitch until large numbers were being thrown around, then they all wanted to be youtube stars.
Part of that is holding the price down until enough people have been distributed.
This is the strategy. Buy and distribute and hold.
We gonna make it.

This. This is why I always argue that the price of BAT going up, while not necessary, would be extremely beneficial to the whole project.

Another red pill: tons of people only started giving a shit about Bitcoin because price went up. Imagine how many less people would care about BTC if it were still only worth $1 / coin. When BAT’s price goes up, not only will more people start caring about it, but more people will actually USE it in its desired utility role. More attention will be drawn to the BAT ecosystem; more publishers verified, more donations, more positive press.

Price go up isn’t essential for BAT to work, but I will always argue that it IS essential to BAT being a success. If BAT shoots to $50 some day, this shit will spread like wildfire. The team just needs to make sure everything is working 100% before then.

every thing you propose is old. even shit like BAT itself:

>AllAdvantage was an Internet advertising company that positioned itself as the world’s first "infomediary" by paying its users/members a portion of the advertising revenue generated by their online viewing habits.[1] It became most well known for its slogan "Get Paid to Surf the Web," a phrase that has since become synonymous with a wide array of online ad revenue sharing systems (see, e.g., paid to surf).

Dot com bubble plus a bad business model with a hint of nobody actually knowing what they're doing. The brave team are all developers and the leads have experience building the web. Internet was not used by people looking to get cents a day back in the year 2000 either.

I like this argument because you're advocating for the current horribly fucked-up fraudulent .00000001% click-through-rate model that benefits nobody and is even older than the "Paid to Surf" model itself.

>dude it's broken stop trying to fix it lmao
>dude pay to surf didn't work back in the stone age before we had the tech to make it work, why would it work now lmao

lots of cretins on this board but BAT threads always seem to draw them in like moths to the light

i really hope it works. its just that there are odds and I dont feel like the odds are for it.
if you think with the help of blockchain it can actually work. go for it. do whatever you want. fixing something that is broken does not always turn out the way you want it to. other problems come in the way eventually. anyway. have fun

all normies that I propose installing adblock for are literally very happy.

how much do you actually earn looking at ads? how much competition do you think there will be even if this works. will it be worth the space the ads will pollute your brain with??

Well unlike 99% of the cryptocurrencies out there, BAT found an actual internet-related problem and is attempting to fix it through blockchain. It didn't invent a problem, it's not trying to fix a problem that only exists because of crypto. It's the real deal.

Maybe the odds are against it but the payoff for everyone involved and the internet in general will be huge if they succeed. I think it's worth getting invested in
