Yes, but few things you should know about:

1. It's grinding. One bad decision can actually ruin previous 200 successful decisions.

2. There is a lot to do outside the game table. Reading, discussing, analyzing, doing mathematics.

3. You have to authentically enjoy it, otherwise you can't cope with the stress.

4. You will lose the first 3-6 months.

T. 8 years of experience, I make about 6-8 €/h playing poker online.

Congratulations on belonging to the top 60 poker players in the entire world!

Considering there are about 100 million poker players in the world, what a coincidence it is that a one in a million player is here today amongst us.

I don't know, OP.

I put in a lot of effort to learn in college.

It was fun at first and I learned a lot, quickly. I really loved playing and grinding multiple tables.

Then my parents split and I needed the money to help pay bills.

Grinding for hours was fun before I depended on it. I could play all day as if I was grinding some bullshit game like RuneScape.

But once I needed money, I felt really stressed. I would feel sick and want to fucking scream when another player made a bad move and still beat me due to luck.

Eventually, I realized the stress was making me unhappy in other parts of my life and just started taking out student loans for living expenses instead.

You would think I'd have gone back to playing for fun, but actually my attitude toward the game never recovered. It continued to feel like work when I did play, I was no longer interested in learning more and studying the game when not playing, and the worst thing, the absolute worst thing, is that my temperament never recovered.

I used to be a mild-mannered person. Nothing could ever piss me off. But eventually I got to the point where even the most common, completely expected times that things would go against me would leave me exhaling in annoyance. I have AKo and whiff the flop? "Fuck me," I'd think. And that's something that's gonna happen most of the time. So just playing the game would ruin my mood.

And outside the game, ever since, minor nuisances in real life will have me thinking "oh fuck me, really? Goddamn it". I haven't played poker in years but my attitude has permanently changed and even though I'm still quiet and don't complain, I actually find myself feeling really annoyed and pissed off from life's really common and minor inconveniences.

I wish I had taken out loans to live and only played poker because I enjoyed it. Relying on it ruined poker, which is such a goddamn cool game that I used to love, and also my attitude which effects literally one's entire life.

Also, that list is for winnings, not net profit. I have no idea why you're talking about top 60. Number 60 on hendonmob has $12.6MM in winnings. There are lots of online players who have way more than $12MM in winnings (but not profits) than that because games are much faster online and you can multi table.

Fwiw the first pic I posted aren't all my net profits, it's just what I have tracked on this computer. Pic related is my profits for november. Keep seething.

It's not worth it if your goal is to make 6 figures. Almost no new players make it to high stakes nowadays. If you're talented and willing to put in a lot of work it's still pretty doable to make it to midstakes and make a decent bit of money. It might be worth it for some people. Especially people from poor countries. But even mid and low stakes have gotten very tough compared to what they were like 5 years ago.
>>16412134
Black Friday didn't really kill online poker (at least not outside the US), but it definitely made it a lot tougher. A lot of the people who were winners at nl5k pre black friday wouldn't even be able to beat nl500k today kek.
It's worth noting that almost all of the biggest sng/ mtt/ spinngo winners opt out from sharkscope and other tracking sites.

Holy shit

The top husng turbo player is making just over $126k for 2019

Back in 2012, the top player was making $330k just from turbos, and that's just on pokerstars, and I know he also had an account on full tilt.

Fucking hell, there was the daydream of making a million dollars back then. I can't imagine daydreaming about making... $126k, fuck that

This is why I said it's not worth the effort to start fresh. Maybe for an Eastern European or Thai etc. it is but don't forget there's the mental aspect to overcome also. Making no money for a month+ will be the end of some people.
>Back in 2012, the top player was making $330k just from turbos, and that's just on pokerstars, and I know he also had an account on full tilt.
The other thing to remember is in 2012 there was Supernova Elite so he'd have gotten insane rakeback. That shit doesn't exist anymore.

Most (if not all) of the top husng players have opted out. The ones at the very top still make a lot of money. It's mainly from hypers though. And you have absolutely no chance at making it to high stakes hypers. They play very close to GTO and have spent countless hours with solvers.
>>16412208
Agreed. It's definitely not wort hit as a "career" anymore if you're from a wealthy country. There's also a huge learning curve. You have to invest lots of time playing and studying. Even if you're very talented and work hard you most likely won't be making any significant amount of money during the first year. And the vast majority of wannabe pros don't even make it that far. And even then you will most likely fail. A lot of semi-recreational players don't play just for the money though. I'm sure a lot of people would be more than happy to be making even just $500/ month from something they consider a hobby.

I don't doubt it. If that's the goal then stay the fuck away from pokerstars and play on nartual8/partypoker/888 or more obscure sites.

Right. The softest games in the world right now are on the chink mobile apps. It's pretty difficult to get on the good ones if you don't have any good connections though (a lot of them are invite only and they don't want too many pros).

I gotta go. I might check the thread later today if any of you have some questions about online poker.

I have played a tiny bit. It's pretty sketchy as all of the apps/ skins more or less are unregulated (and could scam you if they wanted to). Also, there might be some legal/ tax issues depending on where you're from.

online poker is a scam.

but pokerstars may actually be the worst of them all. they poison pots for maximum player action with endless cold decks forcing everyone in and runner runners for the donks whom they feed off of.
