I’m not assertive so I want my husband to call but he says the only way he’d call is if it was an upgrade because he thinks there will be no incentive for them to help if we don’t pay them more than we already have. But I disagree since they will get a more expensive product back and will be keeping the money we paid for that more expensive product while giving us a cheaper product.

I told my husband that I don’t want the V6 engine and all the more expensive versions have the V6. I prefer the 2.0 turbo. It’s not about money. It’s just preference. I like the way the 2.0 accelerates faster. I feel safer in a car that i can merge with confidence in.

Anyway, is my logic not logical? Is my husband right? Would it be stupid for him to call for me?

I can't tell if this is bait or not. Seems to be bait. Once you drive that new car that is $2,000 more expensive than the one you want, it instantly depreciates in value.
They can probably install a new seat in the back IF they have the option available for three seats in the back of that model. Beyond that, you have to see if there's a return policy where you can exchanging it. Some dealerships advertise this grace period. It's not too uncommon. Also, if you're really stuck with this car, you can always order a modified seat for your car. Just make sure that the seat will match the hook ups that are on the car. They should be model or year specific.

If they don't help you, I would modify my own seat. As long as you have a seat belt attached to the bench seat and the bolts along with the latches fit the bottom seamlessly, then you should be perfectly fine safety wise. Then again, I don't know how handy your husband is. I know I can trust my abilities.

Two, you left out the most relevant piece of info: was the car new or used when you bought it?
If new, then they already transferred the title to you, and if they do take it back they can't sell it as new. So the car isn't worth (to them) what you paid for it, not even close. Because they can't sell it for that.
Don't expect the dealer to give you more credit for it than it's worth.

You should have just boughten an old school bus to carry your kids around. A short bus would be perfect for 5 kids, lots of leg room if you tear out all the normal seats and throw a couple of old couches in it. Of course if you are looking for safety just attach some seatbelts to the couches and bolt the couches down to the floor. Perfect solution and a lot cheaper, you could get away with doing all of this for only 5 or 6 thousand dollars, and it scales extremely well for when you have more children/grandchildren.
